Istanbul Kültür University Art Gallery (IKUSAG) hosted Dutch artists living in Turkey in the second exhibition of the 2021-2022 Art Season. Dutch artist Arjen Zwart's photographs from the streets of Istanbul, Jeroen Paalvast's drawings of Turkish projections, and Koenraad Marinus van Lier's oil paintings, mosaic and limestone works are at the “Dutch Diaries in Turkey” exhibition, which opened on Wednesday, November 17 at 15.00. In addition to his sculptures, there are also video works of three artists. The interview with the artists and the curator of the exhibition, Kemal Orta, before the opening of the exhibition, provided the opportunity to get to know the artists and their artistic productions closely. Our Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver, Dutch Cultural Attaché David Naves and Curator Kemal Orta made the opening speeches of the exhibition. After the opening cocktail; The works in which many different artistic forms from photography to drawing, painting to sculpture and video art were used were watched with interest by art lovers. The exhibition can be visited at IKU Ataköy Campus Art Gallery within the framework of the pandemic rules until December 15, 2021.

Istanbul Kültür University Department of Architecture continues to bring famous architects together with its students and the architectural environment. The second guest of the 2021-2022 Academic Year Fall Semester was Architect Burçin Yıldırım, Co-Founder of PAB Architecture Office. The event was held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 15.00, with the title of “Stretching the Walls”.

In cooperation with the Department of Nursing and the Nursing Club, Bahçelievler Municipality Soup Kitchen, which cooks and distributes three kinds of meals to the needy every day of the week, and Bahçelievler Municipality Family Support House, which provides adult-child clothing and blankets to the needy, were visited on Monday, November 15, as part of the "Social Responsibility Projects" course.

Within the scope of the "HEM 3001 Internal Medicine Nursing" course given in the Department of Nursing, S.B.Ü. Mehmet Akif Ersoy Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital Organ Transplant Coordinator Gamze Ataman Yıldız was a guest of our university. In the event, which was held with the participation of second year students, information was given on “The Importance of Organ Transplantation, the Pre- and Post-Transplant Process and the Role of the Nurse”. Our volunteer students have registered for organ donation by adopting the motto of the Ministry of Health, "Every donated organ is a new life".

The Department of International Trade and Finance started its seminar series on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 10:00 am with the seminar titled "Technological Life in South Korea" with Hasan Tınmaz from Woosong University as a speaker. Touching on life in South Korea at the event, Tınmaz gave information about South Korea's technological competence.

Vocational School Program of Health Institutions Management Lecturer Kübra Mertel attended the Erasmus+ KA103 Partner Countries Personnel Teaching Mobility and Human Resources training held at Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft Ludwigshafen within the scope of the 2019-2020 Project Term.

Lecturer  Kübra Mertel made her presentation in the field of Human Resources at the Human Resources and Leadership training held in Germany Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft Ludwigshafen between 15-19 November 2021.  Lecturer Mertel also attended Human Resources courses as a visiting lecturer at Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft Ludwigshafen.

Within the scope of the "RPD Practice in Schools 1" course, a meeting was held with the psychological counselors in the practice schools on Friday, November 12 at 16.30 in the 3rd floor multi-purpose seminar hall of Ataköy campus by the Department of Educational Sciences. Can you briefly explain yourself? Who is Ahu Uzla with 2-3 sentences?

I was born in 1981 in Istanbul. I graduated from Anadolu University Department of Human Resources Management. I have been working as a Payroll and Personnel Affairs Specialist in the Department of Human Resources since December 2020. I am a total nature lover. I like to take part in social activities.

How did your participation in Kültür Family evolve?

Between 2004 and 2012, I worked in the Human Resources department of İbrahim Etem Ulagay Menarini Group pharmaceutical company. I was kneaded with the motto of solution-oriented work, finishing and smiling in this institution, which is the first step of my Human Resources adventure. In 2013, I joined the Bahçeşehir University Personnel Department team and in December 2020, my path crossed with the Istanbul Kültür University family.

In the fusion of these technologies, the potential of IoT and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) would be witnessed through various applications such as connected consumer, home monitoring system, predictive maintenance, factory monitoring, and so on. A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a term used for a network of devices that can gather information and then communicate it through any wireless link. The data collected is then transferred using different nodes and multiple gateways. With the evolution of technology, some new criteria have been introduced to check and balance the environmental conditions for reliable and fast response operations for a quick response and service under different scenarios and situations. There has been an increased use of smart wireless sensor objects in the current world by various organizations. The growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), industrial IoT, and wireless sensor networks have shaped different technologies and enables faster, reliable, and sufficient production of goods and services. Although there are limitations and challenges such as storage capacity, processing power, communication range, and battery life, WSN significantly affects IoT technology development. Learning about the standards and specifications of WSNs is vital to understanding their general functionality and how they are in close interaction with the Internet of Things, with many massive billions of device connectivity. Future developments should focus on building a self-adaptive spectrum management middleware for the wireless sensor networks. The telecom industry will continue to face regulatory challenges it faces currently. Various new regulations are likely to come up soon, and these will also have financial implications for the companies. The need to ensure consumer privacy is a critical issue that will be of prime concern to the telecoms in the next few years. Various aspects, such as the standards and the architectures, need to be considered to ensure the security and operational consistency of these wireless sensor networks; therefore, industry players should keep up with the changing trends and adapt accordingly. In this book there are twelve chapters which cover wireless networking sensors evolution and technologies advancement. We are very pleased that the technology, academic, and industry communities are discussing this important and fast growing industry and we are certain that the content of this book will shed some light on this subject. The chapters presented in this book discuss technologies, design, implementation and applications of various short and long range wireless sensors networking. The challenges and issues faced in providing applications and services to meet user experiences ubiquitously and securely are presented.
