General Information

The Katy ISD Community Education Program is conducted for the benefit and enjoyment of community patrons. Classes are held at District campuses and are offered for non-credit. Payment for classes must be received before students can attend classes. Children are not allowed in class. You will be notified of time or date changes, as well as class cancellations or schedule changes.

KATY ISD IS A TOBACCO-FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT. PARKING LAWS ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

The Katy ISD Police Department will enforce the parking laws, and violators are given traffic tickets that carry fines up to $200. All no parking zones are clearly marked. Also, there is no parking allowed along curbs that are painted blue (except for vehicles with a handicap designation) or painted red (fire zone).

Refund Policy

The Katy ISD Community Education Program is funded solely by tuition. Once a class has formed or is in progress, expenses for the teacher and

materials are set. Therefore, the following procedures must be followed:

• For classes canceled because of lack of enrollment, 100% of the tuition will be refunded.

• For students who withdraw from a class after registration and before the second class meeting, 75% of the tuition will be refunded.

• No refund will be given after the second class meeting (whether the student has attended or not).

A refund request can be made by contacting the Katy ISD Community Education Office at (281) 396-6365. Credit card refunds can be processed within three working days of the request.

Canceled Classes

If Katy ISD cancels regular school classes due to inclement weather or other reasons, Community Education classes are canceled as well. Every effort will be made to contact you if your class is canceled. Therefore, we must have an accurate phone number and email address on file. If you need to update your information, please contact the Katy ISD Community Education Office at (281) 396-6365 or CommunityEd@katyisd.org.
