Lost-30-Years, Japanese Economy Truly Recovered? A Break-Down of Japan’s GDP By Zagdim Columnist - Joe Yuen Reading Japanese reports can be quite schizophrenic. On one hand, the Nikkei index is breaking historical highs, and housing prices are seeing a doubling scenario. On the other extreme, GDP has entered negative growth, and the yen continues to hit recent lows. Meanwhile, reports on Japan escaping its lost thirty years of economic stagnation are everywhere. This time, we analyze the GDP to see if Japan’s economy has really improved after the lost thirty years. Dive in from here: https://lnkd.in/db62imDp #zagdim #

Financial Center Rankings: Should We Worry about Hong Kong not in the Top 5? The recent release of the "London and the UK's Competitive Strengths Supporting Economic Growth" by the City of London has drawn attention to Hong Kong's ranking. Media focus is primarily on Hong Kong not making it into the top five. However, a closer look at the report reveals that the survey compares the City of London with six other financial centers, rather than being a global financial center ranking. Apart from Hong Kong, the ranking of the UK, especially post-Brexit, is worth noting. Before Brexit, the financial sector in the UK (particularly London) consistently contributed over 8% to the overall GVA. Check out the new column article here: https://bit.ly/48SoQJy -------------- 金融中心排名 前五不見香港有咩好怕 最近 City Of London 「倫敦金融城」發佈,2024年金融服務國際競爭力研究報告,較多人關注香港排名情況,媒體焦點一致放在香港前五不到。
