Description

For those of you unfamiliar with this amp think early Sabbath and you’re there. Both Toni and Geezer used these amps in the early days of the band to devastating effect.  This is the original amp of heavy metal and it is crushingly incredible.

There are a few different modern boutique builders doing replicas of this amp, but you can’t clone the tone of that original British iron.  These classic Birmingham amps were once considered the poor man’s Marshall, but have been proven to have a very unique voice of their own and have been used by players like Peter Stroud, Billy Corgan, Rusty Anderson and many other modern day tone hounds.

The original Partridge transformers are still present. Solder joints look to be undisturbed.

This amp sings. At modest volumes there’s a warmth and a presence that really lets the instrument shine. Crank it up and things get fun. There’s a punch that pins you to the back wall with a crunch that still retains that clarity. Lots of clean headroom before you start getting into sonic destruction territory.

Another classic from the late 60’s, this Treble & Bass is a must for those seeking that Sabbath tone

"For almost 40 years, I’ve been recording, playing, and touring all over the world with bands like Guns N’ Roses, The Psychedelic Furs, Thin Lizzy, The Dead Daisies, & more. Many of these pieces have made the trip with me, destined for the stage or the studio. Many haven’t, but each is an equal part of my musical history, and I’m glad to have the opportunity to pass this along to you." -Richard Fortus
