Chief Human Resources Officer, Citi

99% Compliance: Status of Our U.S. Vaccine Requirement A few months back we announced that U.S. colleagues are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 or receive an accommodation by January 14. One day before the deadline, we have reached 99% compliance. This level of compliance helps us create a safer workplace, protect your families and our communities, and ensure continuity of our business operations. A huge thank you to everyone at Citi who took action to meet this requirement: those who were already vaccinated, those who made the decision to get vaccinated, and those who requested and received approved religious and medical accommodations or state-permitted exemptions. Going into the last day, we expect the number of employees who have not complied will decrease even further. Our goal has always been to keep everyone at Citi, and we sincerely hope all of our colleagues take action to comply.

Sara as the effectiveness of the "vaccine" wanes over time - will you now start to fire those that do not agree to the booster shot which also apparently only lasts a few months - is this get boosted forever or get fired. And since the Supreme Court blocked the OSHA mandate you stated you were doing this because of the Biden mandate which is now blocked why are you still pushing through with a one size fits all approach - there is no clear science here - putting a gun to someones head and telling them to get vaccinated or fired and hitting 99% percent is really not a cause for celebration. The CDC, NIH and WHO keep changing the so called science - and anyone doctor no matter if they are from Oxford, Stanford, Harvard or wherever with a different opinion gets silenced - so we do not get to hear their opinions and thoughts - lockdowns did not work and we have lost more people in 2021 than in 2020 even with three vaccines and therapeutics - something is wrong with the data - why did Pfizer ask for 75 years before they would publish their clinical vaccine trials - too many unanswered questions. I know this tough and everyone wants to protect everyone else - but there has to be a better way - than what is happening now.

What else will you begin to mandate? Should you begin mandating employee diets? How about birth control? Mandating the use of sunscreen? Prohibit smoking off property? Maybe you can pass out breathalyzers and link to those to ensure that people are not drinking in excess. Perhaps people should be responsible for themselves, determine their own risk/reward ratios, and suffer or benefit from the decisions they are free to make. Maybe companies should ONLY compensate employees for their services and let them be in charge of everything else (i.e., no more employer-provided health care plans). WWII wage controls created the fringe benefits monster that we have now. I think it's time to slay that beast and put the power BACK into the hands of the consumer/employee.

I hope Citi defines "In Compliance" once and sticks to that definition. Hope Citi's definition does not change every time someone at CDC or at WH uses toilet paper on their brains.

After you have fired those who do not get vaccinated, do you not expect that people will still get Covid-19? Therefore, what's the real point? I got Covid-19 last February, got the 1st shot of the vaccine in April and the second in May. Just a few weeks ago, I tested positive (and had mild cold symptoms, fatigue, etc.). My partner had a similar experience. We are both healthy with zero co-morbidities. We survived the first strain with no antibodies. What is the point of this mandate? Most deaths occur in those with multiple co-morbidities. The vaccines don't prevent the transmission or contraction of the virus. Why shouldn't people have free choice, without coercion, and deal with the results of their decisions? We don't need the Nanny State or the Nanny Corp.

What part of the unconstitutional mandate is unclear? Asking for a friend.

<<<---See this guy, right here? He doesn't work in banking, but even if he did, you will never see his resume cross your desk for any reason. Congratulations, your job of thinning the pile of potential job applicants just got easier. I imagine how many people are grinning, gloating at the idea of employees being fired because they have issues with what's being injected into their bodies. My guess is, they will never be eligible to work in banking again, even if they did get a vaccine in the future; perhaps one with which they were more comfortable. But, they are fired and maybe blackballed; that's all that matters. Well done.

Does this include number of people who permanently left company in 2021? CITI can barely stay competitive, vax mandate was the last straw. Great news supreme court killed that unconstitutional mandate 🙏

Will you also make efforts to care for those with vaccine injuries? And you did this even though SCOTUS overturned the mandate for companies with more than 100 employees? And now that we know the vaccine does not reduce transmission or illness, what's the point? Highly questionable move, Citi. Paid off my loan today.

Sara Wechter Wow, what a great accomplishment! No doubt you've put a lot of thought into your plans and execution. And as such, I have a few questions: What does vax'd mean? 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 shots? And when they raise the bar to "current available", will you demand all employees get that one too? And, since the shot we've learned doesn't prevent transmission, and only lasts a few months anyhow, how often will you look at the true "safety" you seek? And will you also demand your employees' families get the shots? Since, well, you know, it is safer that way? And last, since the WHO says boosters sort of don't work, what will be your policy? Just asking for a friend.

This is one of many examples of the excellent culture at Citi. Kudos to the US colleagues and around the world. Stay safe!
