ROOTT is a movement dedicated to our well being through a Reproductive Justice lens.
We operate under the simple principal of We are Enough, through various offerings such as Full Spectrum Doula trainings, workshops and facilitated conversation surrounding healing from stress created by racism, traumatic birth and reproductive choice experiences. We utilize a holistic model to assist in regulating the "flight or fight" response that can damage our bodies over time. We believe in the power of our own resource, while living in the reality of our society. We, unapologetically, focus on the needs of Black Women and Infants, as well as WOC, in addressing the structures that lead to the Social Determinants of Health and the consequences created. We approach the conversation to addressing maternal and infant mortality in our communities from surface level risks to root causes. Our approach utilizes Public Health as a Social Justice agent.
ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Access to Social Work interns, and referrals to culturally aware mental health practitioners.
COMPREHENSIVE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH EDUCATION
Peer to Peer education and discussion for our youth and adults. Specialized training component available for youth age 13-19 to provide service and education in their own communities.
COMMUNITY BASED RESEARCH
Qualitative and Quantitative Research through a Critical Participatory Action model. ROOTT operates in the principal of informed research directed and implemented by the voiced needs of the community it serves.
CONSULTING SERVICES
Board development, Continuing Education Units, organizational training, and program evaluation through a decolonized, cultural awareness lens grounded in evidence based public health practices.
FATHERHOOD INITIATIVES
A place for the Men of Color to share and mentor one another through activities and discussions built upon personal experiences.
HOLISTIC HEALTHCARE
Yoga, Reiki, mini spa treatments and wellness consultations are just a few of the many things that encompass our approach to holistic care. Available for individual and group sessions in collaboration with Black owned services across our city.
Assistance with and referrals to community resources and activities designed to address the Social Determinants of Health that affect our health and well being.

LEGAL & MEDICAL CONSULT/ REFERRALS
Referrals to comprehensive medical and legal services that consider our clients and the role institutional racism plays in every day lived experiences.
POLICY & ADVOCACY
In collaboration with the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, ROOTT acts as a local arm in policy development and advocacy centered around Reproductive Justice, with priority given to Black Maternal and Infant health.
