On Aug. 5, punk/ska revivalists The Interrupters will release a new record titled In the Wild.
Announced recently, the album comes with anticipation thanks to the Interrupters’ breakthrough success in 2018 with “She’s Kerosene,” a hit single that helped the album Fight the Good Fight crack the Billboard 200.
On Tuesday, the band shared “As We Live,” a high-energy blast of throwback ska vibes. The track features Tim Armstrong of Rancid and Rhoda Dakar of the Bodysnatchers:
“Love is the fuel for everything beautiful in the world,” said band leader Aimee Interrupter. “Love should be approached with urgency and that’s what we are trying to capture with this song. It is truly humbling to have musical legends, Tim Armstrong and Rhoda Dakar co-writing and singing this one with us.”
“As We Live” is the third song shared so far from In the Wild, a record of vibrant energy and tales of survival and resilience set to high-energy anthems primed for singalongs and the mosh pit alike. An official description promises that ” … the record took shape in an unforced and organic fashion, and the recording process was evidently a fun one, which is reflected in the sound of the album, gliding across a spectrum of breathless punk rock, doo-wop, gospel, dancehall, and the band’s customary nods to the lineage of two-tone.”
