Canada Wood, Lochgreen Road, Falkirk, Falkirk, FK1 3AZ, United Kingdom

Although our funding for our FREE Friday morning sessions has now come to an end, we will continue to hold a session every Friday morning, and we hope that donations will be made to help pay for these.

Our Friday Morning Wellbeing session this week will be a Mindful Walk, guided by Susie.

We will walk round part of Canada Woods, a lovely circular route. Mindful Walks take place in silence, and we walk more slowly than usual to really be present while we walk. If you're able to get there yourself, we'll meet outside the cafe.

There is the opportunity to come together in the cafe afterwards - so please book in, so I know how many people to book the table for for. Let me know if you need a lift - we can easily arrange lifts from the Place to Pause & Breathe.

Please bring some cash for a donation. There's no set amount, and if you cannot afford to donate anything at all you're still very welcome to join us.

Vision Boarding Session

Sat 06 Apr 2024
10:00 AM
The Place to Pause & Breathe, 83 Broomhill Road, Bonnybridge, Bonnybridge, FK4 2AT, United Kingdom
£25.00
--View Description--

What does it mean to have a vision?

Do you have hope, meaning, purpose?

How do you turn these into reality?

Debbie Cluness will be holding a vision boarding session on Saturday 6th April 10-12.30. The session will be warm and welcoming and include a cuppa and some snacks. We will begin by gathering together and I will invite everyone if you wish to share what you would like to get out of the session. There will then be a 10 minute meditation in order to connect with what your vision going into spring might be. This helps to ground you and bring you into a space where you can work creatively. We will spend around an hour creating our vision board.

At this point, we will have a small refreshment break and then I would like to invite anyone who wishes to share what they have created. We will agree at the start of the session that what is shared will remain within the group in order to help the group participants feel comfortable throughout and maintain confidentiality. There will be no pressure to share anything.

Some questions;

What is vision boarding? Vision boards are visual representations of the hope and direction you wish your life to take. You may have a theme or idea you wish to work on or not. Either way the session will focus on working through some magazines or other material you wish to bring that stands out for you. Cutting out images, words, colours and then gluing these onto a piece of paper. You can then use other mediums supplied to write or draw on your vision board if you wish. Then sit back and admire your creation. What does it mean to you, what is standing out for you, are there any surprises?

What will be supplied: paper and various art mediums including, water colours, paint pencils, pens and pencils. There will be a selection of magazines and some scissors and glue.

What should you bring: if you have magazines/other resources (such as photographs) you wish to work through to contribute to your vision board then please bring them. A blanket and water bottle will be useful also.

Our Vision Board Session will be held on Saturday 6th April from 10am-12.30pm. It costs £25 to attend, which covers all materials provided and hot drinks and snacks. You will have created something that you can take home with you.

Do get in contact with any questions: pause@pauseandbreathe.co.uk

Meet Your Facilitator:

Debbie is an integrative counsellor based in private practice and in high school working with all ages. Her passion is working creatively, which encompasses many ways including working with sand, stones, creative art; paint, pastels, pens and pencils. This brings her to offering a vision boarding session where I will hold the space for the group. Debbie is a mother of 2 boys, a wife, sister and daughter and has a lot of time for the people in my life who she cares about. She also has a cat called Biggles who quite frankly rules the home. Spare time doesn’t come freely but she tries to create it and connecting with others is always her priority along with listening to live music concerts, outdoor swimming, yoga and pilates. Her body is changing as she gets older so exercise can be painful but walking is currently suiting her well. Debbie says: "I am looking forward to meeting you and spending time in a creative space."

Sundays are made for chilling! But why not chill in company?

Our bi-monthly Restful Sundays are a chance to get together for some chill out time. Bring your duvet, wear your pj's - the plan is to do very little, so be as comfy as possible.

We'll have a welcome meditation together, some chance for a chat before heading into quiet time together. You can use this time however you'd like to - maybe you bring a book to read. There will be some suggested journal prompts which you might like to journal on. Perhaps you bring something that you're making, or crafting. Some colouring in maybe. This is quite time, together. We'll end with a yoga nidra - a deep relaxation meditation. The invitation is to lie down and do nothing - to allow yourself to be taken on a journey through the meditation.

We all need a little more rest in our lives.

This Restful Sunday will be held on Sunday 7th April from 2-4.30pm. During the afternoon there will be hot drinks and snacks provided. The cost of the afternoon is £20 / £16 for concessions (those in receipt of their pension / students / on lower incomes). We have two reduced rate places at £10, for anyone who could not otherwise afford to come along. Please pick the price that best reflects your circumstances.

Caroline says: "It's great what you learn whilst putting the world to rights over a cuppa and cake. Since lockdown we've talked about starting the craft cafe up again, I believe there's still lots of people who are finding it scary to go out and socialise. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and seeing different crafts."

Full moon is a time of completion and culmination when the Earth is bathed in moonlight and our seeds are anchored and seen, celebrating small (or big) successes. The moon has always been present in world mythology and her waxing and waning forms patterns in our lives: new crescent to full to old crescent, as we go from maiden to mother to crone. Her cycles have been called “Earth’s breath reflected in the sky”.

Within these sessions we'll have the chance to share our reflections, and set intentions. Each Full Moon has a different name, we'll discuss the symbolism behind this, and how we can take the energy of this specific full moon into our lives. Within each session there will be a themed Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation meditation), which enables us to turn more fully toward the symbolism of the moon.

In March, the moon is a "Pink Moon", it's seen as a time of rebirth, growth and renewal. It signals a time for change and for growth - an opportunity to let go of anything that no longer serves you.

We will also turn towards the New Moon to come: a New moon happens at the beginning of the lunar cycle when the sun does not reflect solar light onto the earth. This is a time to turn inwards, to rest and dream. This circle group will look at the next new moon intentions for 7th May in the sign of Taurus and with Hawthorn tree energies.

Susie will hold these sessions alongside Karen. Karen has a curiosity about the ways of the moon and planets and feels that the wonders of the night skies give her some comfort beyond her day-to-day living. She will give the main astrological message for each new and full moon month ahead and introduce a storytelling aspect about the moon through the names given to “Lunar” by different cultural groups, relevant to each, with no hard and fast rules.

Maybe you wish to be the leader of your own life, feel less scattered by constant change and find simple practices that help you live more heartfully. If your wish for yourself is to be more curious, playful, brave but gentle allowing your creativity to flow, without judgment or outcome, then we’re hoping that this could be the space for you to come and journey with us … and the moon!

The full moon circles will be held in The Place to Pause & Breathe, Bonnybridge. This circle is taking place on Friday 19th April from 7-9pm. The cost is £20 to attend. It's possible to attend three circles for £50 (let me know which ones you'd like to attend), or to book for the remainder of the year for £155. I can offer a reduced rate, get in contact if you'd like to take this up.

Here are the dates of the circles for the rest of 2024. They are all Fridays, and will take place from 7-9pm: 24/5; 21/6; 19/7; 16/8; 13/9; 18/10; 15/11; 13/12

Glimmers, Glows and Grounding - Friday Morning Wellbeing Session

Fri 19 Apr 2024
10:00 AM
The Place to Pause & Breathe, 83 Broomhill Road, Bonnybridge, Falkirk, FK4 2AT, United Kingdom
--View Description--

Although our funding for our FREE Friday morning sessions has now come to an end, we will continue to hold a session every Friday morning, and we hope that donations will be made to help pay for these.

Our Friday Morning Wellbeing session this week will be "Glimmers, Glows and Grounding", held by Mags from Glimmering.

Join us for a playful workshop on glimmers, glows and grounding interwoven with some fairy tales and facts about nervous systems, Tension Release Exercises (TRE) and Polyvagal Theory.

As mammals we have a negativity bias for survival - which serves us well but leads us to rarely noticing or remembering even small moments of positive experience. Beginning to consciously notice these moments or “glimmers” can be a step towards building our resilience.

Please bring some cash for a donation. There's no set amount, and if you cannot afford to donate anything at all you're still very welcome to join us.

This session will be held on Friday 19th April from 10-11am. There's an invitation to stay until 11.30am for a cuppa, snack and a chat.

Embodying Change Yoga Nidra - on Zoom

Wed 01 May 2024
8:30 PM
Online
£3.50
--View Description--

Our first Yoga Nidra in May is all about Embodying Change. Often we know what we want to change, but something gets in the way of us actually making and sustaining changes. In this Yoga Nidra, we use a variety of techniques that can help us to get unstuck – so that change is more likely to happen. And best of all, this happens when we’re deeply resting – there’s nothing that you need to be doing – you’ll be resting, listening to my voice guiding you.

Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation meditation, designed to get you to that place between being awake and being asleep - where the magic can happen.

This session is being held by Susie. It's £7 to attend, we have a reduced rate if this is unaffordable. If you would like access to the recording for 30 days after the session, to listen to again as many times as you'd like to, select the £10 option for this.

Silent Retreat Day: Leaning into Joy

Sun 26 May 2024
10:00 AM
The Place to Pause & Breathe, 83 Broomhill Road, Bonnybridge, Bonnybridge, FK4 2AT, United Kingdom
£30.00
--View Description--

How much silence do we truly have in our lives? Our silent day retreat allows us to rest from the busyness in our everyday lives. Silence gives our minds and bodies a chance to recuperate and settle. We can take away the worrying about what to say and how to say it and enjoy the peace that this can bring.

Our day will focus on joy - leaning into the things that bring us joy. There will be time to explore this in different ways - and with inward introspection, instead of discussion. This way we can truly find the things that bring us joy, without worrying about other's expectations or judgments. Expect this to be an uplifting day, with space for some creativity as well as some teachings, some guided meditations, and some movement.

A vegetarian lunch will be provided, alongside tea, coffee and snacks. Some dietary requirements can be catered for - but please inquire prior to booking, and be aware that all food will be made in a domestic kitchen - severe allergies cannot be catered for unfortunately.

The cost of the day is £60. For concessions (those in receipt of their pension, on lower incomes and students) this price is £48. Please only select this rate if you fall into one of these categories. I also have two spaces at £30, please only take one of these if you would not otherwise be able to attend.

Our day will be held on Sunday 26th May from 10am until 3.30pm.

Yoga mats, meditation cushions and chairs will be provided. Please bring your own blanket for additional comfort, and bring along thicker socks or slippers as we will have our shoes off. People often find a notebook helpful, for personal journaling throughout the day.

Please feel free to email me with any questions - susie@pauseandbreathe.co.uk.

The retreat is taking place in The Place to Pause & Breathe, 83 Broomhill Road, Bonnybridge, FK4 2AT
