The new Mercedes-Benz EQXX surpasses all the production analogues that have been created before.

The Mercedes-Benz company, having presented the new concept car EQXX, has made quite bold statements.

It has announced that its model is able to drive more than a thousand kilometers without recharging.

Such range is largely due to the smooth body shape, lightweight design and intelligent temperature control.

Mercedes-Benz has now confirmed its claimed performance in real-world testing.

The German concern tested its concept on public roads. The novelty has passed 1000 kilometers.

At the same time, according to indications of onboard electronics the electric car still has a charge, enough to cover 140 kilometers.

It is reported that this result could not be faked. The copy of the electric car used in the tests was driven with a sealed charging hatch.

It is also interesting that Mercedes-Benz EQXX was not driving on a straight road and comfortable conditions.

While driving the German model had to overcome several mountain passes, as well as encountering frost.

But despite this, the car freely passed the claimed 1000 kilometers.

The result was helped by the original form of the body, which helped to reduce the drag coefficient to a record-breaking 0.17.

It is claimed that in the absence of external influences, the German model is able to freely dissipate the air at a speed of about 120 km/h to make up for the lack of power during the drive.

With the technology at its disposal to provide such a high range, Mercedes-Benz can become a leader in the electric car segment.

The German company has already said it plans to implement it in its other models.

For the first time in its history, the Mercedes-Benz concept car body is made of martensitic steel MS1500, one of the strongest and lightest cold-rolled alloys in the world.

This steel belongs to the group of multiphase and is characterized by low bainite and ferrite content.

Stainless steels of the MS family are specially developed for the automotive industry where high tensile strength is required and are used for bumper reinforcements, cross members and battery frames.

The flat-rolled steel for the body of the Vision EQXX is obtained from scrap using an electric arc furnace — a process that emits 70 percent less CO₂.

The doors of the concept are molded from a hybrid composite consisting of CFRP/GFRP plastics and aluminum.
