Another Life will not get another season. Netflix has cancelled the sci-fi drama after just two outings, according to star Katee Sackhoff.
“I’d like to thank everyone single person who watched & supported Another Life on Netflix,” Sackhoff tweeted on Monday. “To our crew & cast thank you for always working so hard & being prepared. I wish we could do more seasons but sadly it’s just not in the cards. See you on the next adventure. Love Niko.”
Another Life starred Sackhoff as astronaut Niko Breckinridge, “who is focused on searching for alien intelligence,” per the show’s official logline. “She leads a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact. As Niko and her young crew investigate, they face unimaginable danger on what might very well be a one-way mission.”
The series also starred Justin Chatwin as Erik Wallace, Samuel Anderson as William, A.J. Rivera as Bernie Martinez, Alexander Eling as Javier Almanzar, JayR Tinaco as Zayn Petrossian, Lina Renna as Jana Breckinridge-Wallace, Selma Blair as Harper Glass, Elizabeth Ludlow as Cas Isakovic, Tongayi Chirisa as Richard Ncube and Dillon Casey as Seth Gage.
TVLine has reached out to Netflix for confirmation.

I liked the show. I like sci-fi shows.
I like sci fi shows too. Good ones. This one wasn’t good.
Second season was a million times better than season 1.
This.
After S2, I’m actually sorry to see it go.
It actually became pretty not bad at all.
You didn’t see Season 2, did you?
It wrapped up completely at the end of the second season. Guess they saw the writing on the wall.
Matt you are so right! Did you feel S2 was a far better show than S1??
It was open enough at the end of S2 that they could have continues it with a Star Trek, “Boldly going” vibe.
.
But, at least it ended on a much higher note than it started on.
Thank you for this. Now I’ll finish re-watching season 1 and watch season 2.
Netflix doesn’t care about the opinion of the audience, many people are waiting for the continuation of this movie, but it was stopped. We don’t follow Netflix anymore.
I am BUMMED! Really Cool show with original premise. Not many of those around anymore.
The first season was so mind numbingly awful I couldn’t handle the torture of a second season. I was beyond shocked Netflix renewed this when there were several other shows that were amazing and well watched and deserved a second season and didn’t get one.
Katee will land another series as a lead – she’s always been in demand since “Galactica”.
it’s a shame. season was awful, just awful.
but season 2 was surprisingly good, despite the twists and cast changes. it made me look forward to season 3. shame it won’t happen now, but it did get some closure at the end.
100% with you Dominique.
Same here.
This just sucks!
Second season made show worth watching. It ended well though
At least they ended it.
Nothing against Katee, she’s a fine actor. It was just…. Bad. Which is something for me to confess as my wife will tell anyone, when it comes to Sci-fi I will watch anything.- I couldn’t finish either season.
The show had such potential. I could have been. Long runng scifi. Darn this sucks
I watch all scifi shows even if they are trash, and this one was somewhere in the middle. Not the worst thing I’ve seen but not good either.
It really is a shame that scifi just doesn’t get a chance. But at least this had a good ending.
Hate that they cancelled anotherHate that they cancelled another lifeWas a
What?
Huh?
Did your comment get caught in a blender?
I enjoyed the 1st season. The 2nd season felt like it took so long to get here and then I had pretty much completely forgot about the events that it was hard to get into season 2. We made it like 1 episode and just never went back.
The show had everything going for it: great cast, entertaining plotlines, suspense, and the futuristic series itself. COVID related delays probably did it the show no favors. The season finale of the show actually made me believe it wasn’t going to be renewed.
The series was outstanding and really wish that it wasn’t canceled.
Not sure I expected another season. They defeated the aliens and everybody got home in the end. What would the next challenge have been? William getting a corporeal body and convincing Niko and Erik to engage in the first human/AI throuple?
My husband and i are soooo disappointed. I’ve always loved Katee and we were looking forward to the next season. Bad move on Netflix’s part.
I could not make it through season 1 and I watched all seasons of “Pandora” so far!
That show was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. Get Sackhoff a better series.
As it is with most scifi shows it started out slow. But it got better. A series needs time to gel & come together both in story & actor contribution. I was hoping for another season. Netflix, please reconsider & renew. Katee is a talented actress. Glad to see her in The Mandalorian.
Far too many foreign programs. Every time I start a series I enjoy. It get dropped . I was looking forward to several more seasons of this program. I watched every episode of every version of Startrek. I thought this program would certainly have many versions in the future. The cast was outstanding. Who makes there poor decisions, and what are they based on. I have yet to talk to a person who didn’t enjoy the program.
I am very disappointed … I was looking forward for more seasons.
I really loved that series! I’m very disappointed it won’t be coming back for a third Season!
Please change your mind and bring it back…
About ready to cancel Netflix along with most other subscription services. Extremely tired of getting hooked by a couple good shows only to be let down after one or two seasons. The majority of the remaining content is junk. Spend more time sifting through garbage trying to find something decent than actually watching good content.
It did have what I consider a decent ending, but I would love to see more adventures in that universe. But sadly, Netflix continues its cancel culture process. There were a LOT of possibilities on contact, bigger baddies moving in, alliances and betrayals…. but it will remain in the why if category now.
Another good show bites the dust at Netflix.. That’s why I don’t waste my money each month with them.. Bet they have 10 new garbage cartoons coming out though.. Lol.
Netflix is not making decisions in a vacuum; they have precise viewing figures on how many times a series is streamed. It’s not that fault if people just don’t watch.
