***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW ***** Talia has spent the last 6 months broken hearted over her cheating ex-fiancé Chase. Her besties, Whitney and Lennon, take her out one night to a boxing event where she stumbles into the sexy Lucas. She does nothing but embarrass herself time and time again in front of Lucas. She thinks she’s royally messed up any chance with Lucas until one day they are tossed together again. Again, Whitney and Lennon bet her that she won’t take part in this adventure dating challenge (which sounds crazy cool). Talia and Lucas keep crossing paths until they can’t take it anymore and they find themselves always with the other. This was such a sweet story. I really appreciated Lucas’s charm and was pulled in quickly by him just like Talia. We get a continuation of the trio’s close friendship. They are a hoot and Lennon is just a loose cannon! I can’t wait until she finds her unicorn! This is a book 2 in the Modern Love series but there aren’t any real spoilers in it besides seeing the couple from book 1 together a bit. I do recommend you start with Charmed by the Bartender before reading this. You’ll just get a better overall experience in my opinion. The narrators Jason Clarke and Maxine Mitchell are seriously fabulous together. Clarke has these deep and masculine voice that I could see Lucas the boxer having. Clarke just worked for Lucas for me. Then Mitchell was an amazing Talia. Talia is a bit on the skittish side after dealing with a lying and cheating ex. She’s gun shy and Mitchell pulls that off without sounding weak. Loved it!

5 Star Review Hooked on the Boxer (Modern Love #2) by Piper Rayne AUDIO REVIEW: Hooked on the Boxer was an entertaining listen. Narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Jason Clarke, both narrators did justice to the characters of Tahlia and Lucas. My heart broke for Tahlia after learning that her ex was a lying cheating jerk but luckily she had her girls to support her. Now they have given her enough time to feel sorry for herself, they are determined to bring her back into the dating world. When she meets boxer Lucas Cummings there is a connection, the sparks fly and even though he is not her normal type, she decides to take a chance. After all she was engaged to her “type” and look what happened there. Although not a long book, there is certainly plenty of heat, witty banter and humor. The strong friendship between Tahlia, Whitney and Lennon added an additional layer to the story. They always have one another’s back and the love and support they give to one another is heart warming and I cannot wait for Lennon’s story to release. As their relationship developed it was entertaining to watch the push and pull dynamic play out with chemistry that was intense. Could Lucas be the one to convince Tahlia to take another chance at love? One click and find out.

This is the second book in the Modern Love series. Lucas and Thalia's story is funny, sexy, and heartwarming. They are both amazing characters. The supporting characters are great. I loved to see again the characters from the previous book. Thalia's best friends Whitney and Lennon are such fantastic friends! I love this series! Maxine Mitchell and Jason Clarke did an excellent job with the narration. I love their voices together! I enjoyed it! Looking forward to listening to Mad About the Banker, the next book in the series.
