KlayCity 2022 Development Roadmap
Its been about 2 months since the KlayCity NFT mint, and many users have been asking for a more detailed roadmap regarding the future plans for KlayCity.
For us, a roadmap is a list of realistic promises that we intend to keep, and while it does not include a full list of what we have planned, below we are sharing all the information that we can at the moment to give our users an idea of what our users can expect to be released over the next 8 months.
Note the roadmap is a rough outline, and we anticipate there will be changes and updates as we progress through the following roadmap. This roadmap focuses on services that we expect to launch and does is not a Marketing Roadmap , and does not include exchange listings, strategic partnerships, Music profits, etc. These are in the works independently and will be announced when ready.
Q2-
April 2022
Scavenging — Users can stake their $LAY tokens and begin farming $ORB tokens. At the start we will support 6 pools, with level requirements. In addition, countries that own the pools will receive taxes on farmed $ORB via the Country Vault system. This feature is expected to launch in April 2022.
Exploring — Users can burn their $LAY tokens + $ORB tokens and mint a new land. Season 1 is scheduled to start in April 2022, and is expected to last roughly 4 months.
Apr/May
Launchpad — The KlayCity Launch Pad is expected to launch in Late April / Early May. User will be able to stake their $ORB tokens and in return receive allocations of upcoming projects. We currently have around 5 projects lined up, and are continuing to speak with top projects to conduct IDOs on KlayCity. This feature is expected to Launch in April/May 2022
May/June
Klaytn Faucet — Over the launch of KlayCity, one thing we have noticed is the difficulty that non-Korean users have getting started on the Klaytn Network. For example, users based in China or the USA are unable to access CEX that allow Klay withdrawals. We will be building a faucet that allows users to come in and claim small amounts of $KLAY on a daily basis allowing them to conduct transactions on the Klaytn Network. This feature is expected to launch in May / June 2022.
Klaytn Bridge — In addition to the faucet, we will be working on implementing a bridging solution directly into the KlayCity website. Our goal is to allow users that may have funds on other networks, easily bridge their assets onto the Klaytn Network, without having to leave the KlayCity page. This is a broader part of our global expansion strategy. This feature is expected to launch in May / June 2022.
Q3 —
Season 2 — We anticipate Season 2 to launch in Q3 of 2022. This will bring forth new explorable lands to KlayCity, balance changes, and updates to existing features.
Balance Changes — We are constantly monitoring community feedback, user acquisition rates, and other KPIs to ensure that the KlayCity system is fully operable. We anticipate balance changes to occur between seasons in order to encourage the long-term growth and scalability of the ecosystem.
Country Missions — From the start, our goal has been that users can play alone or together. We are building a system that will allow countries to work together towards shared missions and receive rewards upon completion. We anticipate this feature to launch in early Q3 of this year.
Governance — Creating a decentralized ecosystem where users decide the future direction of the project is our ultimate goal. We are building a governance portal that allows users to share their opinions and feedback and decide the future of the KlayCity ecosystem. This feature is expected to launch in Q3 of 2022.
Q4 —
Metaverse Integration — A virtual space for KlayCity users to interact. Built in conjunction with our partners, including officially licensed real world locations. Roles, and more. Announcement in Q3/Q4.
Country Missions Update — We have divided up the country missions into 2 stages, the first stage focused on rewards for groups of players working together, and the second stage delving further into the this feature and allowing countries to own pools directly. We anticipate the second stage to be launched in Q4 of 2022.
Profile Pictures — Users will be able to create customized profiles for themselves, and upload their own images to their cities. To be honest, simply allowing users to upload an image is a very easy feature to add, but we’ll be taking this a step further to allow users to truly customize what they are showing the world. We anticipate the “easy” part to be launched way before Q4, but the full functionality should be available by the end of Q4.
B2B Districts — TBA (Note: We have received much interest from large companies interested in advertising on KlayCity. Development of B2B features is already underway and we expect this to be launched much sooner than Q4 initially, with full functionality done finished by the end of Q4.
Late 2022 — Early 2023
Project Codename: Atlantis — KlayCity is just the start. Atlantis is the next evolution of KlayCity, an accumulation of everything we’ve put together over 2022. Scavenging $ORB tokens, Generating $LAY tokens, exploring new lands the point isn’t to just be another Defi Farm. It is all part of a much much bigger picture. Starting with Dynamic and real use cases for wORB tokens (not a typo).
$ORB tokens are sent to hit maximum circulation within 5 years, but we see $ORB tokens lasting much much longer. Peak supply is the start not the end.
