2023 Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships - Goldfins Meet Preview

 

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club is pleased to announce the Goldfins Canadian Swimming Championships Team: Jayden Bilous, Keiran Dyck, Abby Gebhardt, Brayden Hemeon, Ethan Hemeon, Holden Lees, Obi Nguyen Bryce Tierney, Goldfins Head Coach, Steven Hitchings and Kendra Dyck - Goldfins Team Manager.  These Goldfins swimmers will be competing against swimmers from over 157 clubs across Canada.  This exciting competition will take place at the Toronto Pan-AM Sports Centre – Toronto, ON – August 1 – 6, 2023.

“The Goldfins Swim Club is sending 7 swimmers to Canadian Swimming Championships.  This year, we will have 2 relays: the Men’s 4 X 100M Freestyle and the 4 X 100 Medley”, said Steven Hitchings, “It is exciting to see the number of swimmers attending this meet, grow from last season’s number.”

“The Goldfins are looking strong going into the meet with a lot of best times at the Manitoba/Saskatchewan Provincial Championships.  Paired with some excellent training in the weeks between.”

Hitchings commented on the experience the Club has gained this past season.  “For the majority of the Goldfins team, last season was their first national level meet, where as, this season, these swimmers are all coming in with experience, racing at national and at international level competitions.  The racing experiences of the past year will help the swimmers in their preparation to swim fast in the mornings with the goal to race again in the final’s session in the evening session.”
