The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), legally S.W.I.F.T. SC, is a Belgian cooperative society providing services related to the execution of financial transactions and payments between banks worldwide. Its principal function is to serve as the main messaging network through which international payments are initiated. [1]
SWIFT was founded on 3 May 1973 at La Hulpe, Belgium. A noon horoscope for SWIFT is shown here. Notice the Sun [13ta] - Venus [19ta] conjunction in the money sign Tauras. This combination is in a hard aspect to Pluto [2li] - Apollon [3li] in Libra. In our current context, Libra - the sign depicted by a Balance - can be looked upon as the need for adjustments to set the accounts right! Pluto with its connection to Scorpio or the 8th sign or natural 8th house rulership is about “other people’s money” which is why astrologers link it to the banking system. Among other things the TNP Apollon is connected to business and commerce and Pluto to manipulation and control issues so along with Venus (money) it represents an opportunity to use banks to control others.
So what is happening in the SWIFT horoscope now? With the progressed Sun [0cn] within just 2 degrees of beginning a square aspect to the radix Pluto-Apollon conjunction we can see why a crisis has appeared seemingly from nowhere. In addition notice that disruptive Uranus [11ta41] is now conjunct SWIFT’s radix Sun [12ta52] and the Venus/Admetus [11ta38] midpoint. If Venus is money and Admetus is blockages we can see how the Uranus disruption has appeared as a blockage to money flows.
Next take a look at the March 2 New Moon chart for La Hulpe, Belgium. Notice that it is placed very significantly on the descendant in hard aspect to Venus-Pluto bringing us back to the same issues i.e. money (Venus) issues used to control (Pluto) others. Also don’t forget that the New Moon [12pi] activates the Dec. 4 solar eclipse [12sa] that fell on the Ascendant at La Hulpe, Belgium.
