UCI Wins Two Events on Final Day of Steve Scott Invite

IRVINE, Calif. -
The UC Irvine men's track & field team had two event wins and a handful of top-10 finishes to close out the Steve Scott Invitational Saturday at Anteater Stadium.
 
Noah Holm continued his dominance in the shot put where he earned his seventh individual victory of the season. Holm took first in a field of 25 throwers with a toss of 56-01.75. Kyle Tsu came in third (54-08.75)
 
Holm also led the Anteaters in the discus, placing fifth overall at 177-04. He was followed by Tsu in sixth (170-10) and Jacob Hawkins in seventh (169-00).
 
On the track, Malcolm Overbaugh, Ty Sheridan, Josh Farmer and Eric Parker claimed top honors in the 4x400 relay. The quartet combined for a winning time of 3:12.41.
 
Drew Pickett was the runner-up in the 110m hurdles at 14.23 seconds, while Maxwell Jefferson ran a season-best 14.92 to come in ninth overall. Pickett added a seventh-place showing in the 400m hurdles (56.08).
 
In the 800m, Miles Duncan crossed the finish line in a personal-record 1:50.63. Duncan's time was third among 56 competitors.
 
Jacob Bustamante paced three 'Eaters in the 1500m where he established a lifetime-best 3:54.16 to finish ninth out of 89. Zeid Hussain also placed among the top-20 at 3:56.40.
 
Parker (49.14) and Sheridan (49.64) were both among the top-eight in the 400m. Seth Enochs notched a season-best 11.14 in the 100m, and Overbaugh tied his season-best at 21.61 to take ninth in the 200m.
 
UCI honored its seniors - Sebastian Bautista, Miles Duncan, Seth Enochs, Christian Hernandez, Noah Holm and Kyle Tsu - in their final home meet.
 
The Big West Championships are up next for UC Irvine with the main events taking place in Davis, California, May 13-14.
