Say 'I Do' to These 39 Books Set at Weddings

Posted by Sharon on April 25, 2022

Real-life wedding season is in full swing these days, but if you're looking for a way to experience the romance or—let's be honest—the drama of a wedding day without strapping on uncomfortable shoes, picking out a gift, or even leaving your couch, you're in luck. Here's a reading list of some new (published since 2020) and upcoming (through the end of the year) books that feature a wedding or the wedding industry as a major plot point.

Predictably, there are rom-coms galore on this list, but we also gathered up some nuptials-adjacent mysteries, literary fiction, and even straight-up horror if your blood runs cold at the prospect of the whole getting-hitched thing. Let it never be said that we don't take matchmaking readers with the right books seriously!

Scroll over the covers to learn more about each book, and if you'd like it, don't forget to put a ring on it (i.e., add it to your Want to Read shelf).

The Wedding Ringer ( which is on this list ) seems to fit the description.

The Guest List by Lucy Foley (mentioned on this list) is an excellent mystery/thriller: not a rom-com, and no happily ever after (unless you count revenge as a happy ending.)

I wish you the best, Aurora. I had to cancel my wedding just ten days before, when my betrothed got seriously cold feet in the form of clinical depression. All the invitations had gone out. People had made travel arrangements. Gifts had started arriving. It was beyond a hot mess. I took a long time to recover from that. I still hate weddings. I loved reading The Guest List by Lucy Foley.

(Oh, and eventually, with lots of therapy, my betrothed and I found our way back together. We've been best friends for over twenty years now.)
