Thursday May 12th, from 5:30-7pm we are partnering with ONE Northside in Chicago to teach people how we can overturn a health insurer's refusal of treatment or payment for a treatment.
Every year 30% of medical claims are denied by health insurance companies, but less than 1% of people who receive a denial appeal their insurer's decision.
Appeals work and upwards of 40% of people that file an appeal get their insurance's decision overturned! We want to teach people how to be part of that 40% that gets their healthcare covered. We'll be teaching folks what the appeal process is, what it entails, and what folks need to start the appeal process.
