Sam Burgess fuels fire of sensational move after being spotted at rugby league ground

Sam Burgess will always be a household name in rugby league.

From his time with the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL, Burgess has become one of the most famous and talked about superstars to ever play the game.

However, after being subject to a police and NRL investigation over claims of domestic abuse, Burgess left his post at the Rabbitohs that he was given after he retired due to a chronic shoulder problem.

Since then, both charges have been dropped, with the hulking Bradfordian has been coaching the Orara Valley Axemen in Bush rugby league as a favour for friend and Rabbitohs owner Russell Crowe.

Yet, Burgess has clearly still been keeping in touch with his former side and he was spotted at Redfern Oval on Saturday helping out with coaching of the Rabbitohs’ Jersey Flegg side.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the 33-year-old return in a coaching role for the first-team given his reputation at the club, though Burgess has also been linked with an understudy role with England head coach Shaun Wane ahead of the impending World Cup at the end of the season.
