well, hello. pretty much every creator out there these days makes one of these, as it's not exactly like YouTube is a reliable income source.&nbsp; assuming you've been on the platform for more than eight minutes, it should be well known to everyone that it's far from consistent.&nbsp; i have been making videos with a weekly schedule for about a year now, and ignoring a handful of hiccups, it's been pretty consistent. i switched from bi weekly to weekly at the start of this year, 2023. im sure you hear this from a lot of creators, but videos do genuinely take a long time to make. the script-writing and editing processes take about ~20 hours on average, and that number is an order of magnitude larger if you include the time it takes to get footage. i intentionally don't plan on making ragebait content, and try to present my opinions in a more measured, thought out way with lots of examples rather than the insufferable rants disguised as video essays all over YouTube.i think it's very important to be upfront when mentioning that, by default, patrons are billed per video.&nbsp; however, if you are even considering throwing money my way, patreon has a way to set a monthly cap on donations, and i would highly encourage you to set it to whatever you're comfortable with.&nbsp; not because i plan on releasing eighteen videos in a week and you need insurance, but just because it makes me feel a lot less stressed about taking money from people. the decision to switch to per-creation billing over patreon's default of monthly was to help with motivation.&nbsp; it's something i've always struggled with thanks to ADHD and this one change helped immensely.&nbsp; lastly, and most importantly: if you do decide to become a patron, it'd be to support me, not to watch my Nebula™ Exclusive video series which i have imprisoned behind a paywall.&nbsp; the alternative is making content for a very small number of people which isn't enjoyable for me because i like sharing my stuff, and, as i mentioned, feels like paywalling off stuff i'd like people to see.&nbsp; that being said, patrons do get credited at the end of videos &amp; see stuff early because it seems rude not to do so. if you have questions, you can just ask. you don't have to pay me money for that. there's a reason my discord is publicly available. thank you for checking out my funny little channel. this was rewritten on 12/29/22, and for the sake of posterity, if you'd like to read what it previously looked like, it is preserved here: <a href="https://imgur.com/ApvRIF6" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://imgur.com/ApvRIF6</a>
