GE15: Batu PKR lodges police report over alleged handouts by fellow candidate

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR has lodged a police report claiming there are images and videos that show a candidate for the Batu parliamentary seat giving out items to constituents, which they say goes against election rules.

P. Prabakaran, who is the incumbent Batu MP, said that the pictures and footage was posted on social media and shows a candidate giving out bags of rice at an event in the constituency.

"All the candidates should follow the law set by the Election Commission," said Prabakaran.

He said that Batu PKR youth wing chairman Lestari Yahya had lodged a report at the IPD Sentul in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Nov 8) evening.

The Batu seat has 10 contenders vying for the parliamentary seat – the most number of candidates for a constituency nationwide.
