古錢幣和古代人類的生活密不可分,對於研究各國的經濟史、外交史等都是極為重要的史料。貨幣融合政治、經濟、歷史、科學、文化為一體,推動了生産與貿易,為經貿交流的重要使者。無論方孔銅錢還是龍銀大洋,都訴説了厚重的歷史,是最為直觀的歷史見證。為了慶祝香港特區成立及回歸祖國25周年,海絲會邀請到中國銀元文化協會洪潤源主席分享對古錢幣的研究,以及樹仁大學歷史學系助理教授區志堅博士擔當客席主持並講述海上貿易的歷史及文化,尤注重介紹明淸二代白銀之路與海上貿易,明清二代與白銀全球化的關係。詳情如下:

Coin money integrates politics, economy, history, science and culture. It promotes production and trade and serves as an important medium for economic and trade exchanges. Either Square-hole coins or dragon silver coins tell a rich history and are the most intuitive witness to history. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong SAR, the Maritime Silk Road Society invites the Chairman of the Chinese Coin Club, Mr Hung Yun Yuen, to share the history and knowledge of ancient coins. Dr Au Chi Kin, Assistant Professor of the Department of History of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, will be the guest host to speak on the maritime trade. In particular, he will introduce the silver route and maritime trade in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the globalization of silver during the period. Details are as follow:
