Harbour Village #3

I Wish We Had Forever

Rate this book
A scorching hot, brother’s-best-friend, bad-boy/good-girl, fake-marriage standalone romance in the small-town Harbour Village series!

I’ve been pining for Abel Miller since we were teenagers. He’s sexy as hell, and has always played a starring role in all my fantasies. Too bad he only sees me as his best friend’s little sister.

He’s also a broody playboy who takes home a new girl every night, while I’m looking to find forever with someone. Abel and I couldn’t be more different.

But when my dad gets sick and says he just wants to see me safe, settled, and happily in love, Abel shocks me by offering to pretend to be my husband.

Now I’m living with the man of my dreams in his luxe bachelor pad as his fake wife. Plot it only has one bed. Which isn’t a problem, until he accidentally walks in on me naked and I wind up bent over the couch with him on his knees between my legs.

Turns out my feelings weren’t so one-sided after all. But Abel swears he’s too much of a bad boy for the type of relationship I’m looking for, and warns me not to fall in love with him.

Can I convince him he’s always been the one for me? Or am I just headed for heartbreak by wishing we had forever?

I WISH WE HAD FOREVER is book three in the standalone interconnected Harbour Village series.

I like my books with sugar and spice, and everything nice and Jessica Peterson is one of my go–to authors. I smile before I even start one of her books knowing it’s going to be a good one. I love the characters, the settings, the vivid descriptions of the people and places, and all of the little details that she includes in her stories that will just pull you in and wish it were real.

In I Wish We Had Forever, book 3 of the Harbor Village series, we have three tropes going on…forbidden love, brother’s best friend, and fake marriage. Bald Head Island is set in the coastal town of Harbor Village in North Carolina where you arrive by boat and zoom around on golf carts, and the residents enjoy the peace and tranquility of the off-season.

Jen Monroe has known Abel since childhood. Her brother’s best friend had a rough upbringing, and Papa Joe Monroe opened up his home and his heart to a young Abel and was the father figure and mentor that he needed. Without giving too much away, this part really hit home for me as the reason I am divorced is because of my ex’s drug addiction after an accident, and it affected and still affects my children greatly. I can totally relate to Abel’s past haunting him all these years later, and my heart hurt for the young boy who had to endure such hardships, and how it never really stopped. Tissues please!

Abel is Bald Head/Harbor Village’s most sought-after contractor, and he doesn’t correct their bad boy image of him in order to cover up his vulnerable side. I felt the author portrayed him very accurately which was very emotional at times, and just loved how patient and understanding Jenny was.
Even though she dated over the years, she loved Abel for a very long time and realized she didn’t want to settle for less. Even though they are pretending to be married, they are living in his home, sharing their innermost feelings, and growing closer each day.

What I admired most about their relationship is how they got to know each other as adults and stood by each other. I loved that they were in their 30s and had so much in common, and how he just adored and respected her. He went above and beyond to make her happy, because that is what made him happy.

Loved how she took control and asked for what she wanted! And don’t even let me get started about the spice in the bedroom. You are going to need to get a fan or cool down in air conditioning after reading these steamy scenes. Wowza is all I can say.

Jen lets down her guard and is just so genuine and real with him. She trusts him completely, not only with her body, but also her heart, and he doesn’t let her down. He is so sweet and swoony and oh so sexy, and our girl Jen is one lucky woman! He is a lucky man, too, and I just loved them together. So happy there wasn’t a third-act breakup and they communicated to work things out.

Love their dogs Tai and Cher who were also part of the family and the story; they made me laugh! Jenny’s father and his girlfriend, Lady, were also key to the story, and even though he was having health issues, he put his family first, was very wise, and encouraged them to be together.

Jens brother is Tuck Monroe from I Wish You Were Mine, who was a single dad to his adorable daughter, Katie, until he falls for the nanny, Maren, and they marry, and have baby Reese. I loved that their story continued and we got to see their HEA, too, and the strong bonds of friendship between Tuck and Abel. Even though book three can be read as a total standalone, Riley Dixon and Lu also make an appearance from I Wish I Knew Then, book one.

Thank you to the author for providing an extended epilogue a year from now, so that we can see into the future and rest easy knowing they are happy and this series is now complete. Looking forward to some cowboy lovin’ as Jen’s friend Mollie, is the heroine in her new series, Lucky River Ranch set in Texas.

Jen and Abel have my whole heart! I Wish We Had Forever by Jessica Peterson was a small-town marriage of convenience romance packed with emotion and hello SPICE. Seriously, Abel Miller is hot as hell and his dirty talk game is A+ perfection. I loved how Jen spoke her mind, went after her desires, and gave it all right back. The longing and the secret pining these two had for each other for years goes from will they or won’t they to a full-on steamy sex marathon, and I was here for it. Jen’s dad Joe added some sentimental knowing moments while her brother Tuck contributed a heated confrontation to give even more tension to the story. I have loved each couple in Jessica’s Harbour Village series, but Jen and Abel may be my new favorite.

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a small-town romance with a hot grumpy charismatic construction hero, a bold dedicated heroine, a marriage of convenience, cancer scares, a secret relationship, two adorable doggies, one-bed house with gorgeous beach views, an advice-giving father, an overprotected brother, super HOT steamy times, walks on the beach, cooking lessons, coming clean, and a HEA that was meant for forever, then you will love Jen and Abel’s story. I always look forward to more from Jessica Peterson.

I've been looking forward to Jen and Abel's book since the end of I Wish You Were Mine.

Jen and Abel are best described as childhood friends. Abel's father was abusive, and ultimately spent a lot of time with Jen, her brother and their father, who basically raised him. Jen and Abel have always had a crush on each other, but never made it known, though it was obvious to everyone around them. Years later, Jen and Abel are thrown for a loop when they find out Jen's father is diagnosed with cancer, and his wish is that he hopes to see both of them happy one day with their own families. And what better way to give her father what he wants than to pop out with a surprise "elopement"?

This had all the things I like about marriage of convenience, which usually includes two characters that have been pining after each other, along with forced proximity due to Jen moving into Abel's beautiful home. Their time living together gave them a chance to explore their chemistry and finally cross that line from friends to lovers. Jen and Abel brought out the best in each other. Jen helped Abel realize that he is capable of love and family, despite how he grew up. Abel helped Jen break free of her inner people pleaser trait, allowing her to feel comfortable in her own skin and ask for what she wanted.

If you want a sweet, lil spicy contemporary romance, this author's books fit the bill. They are quick reads but, like Jen and Abel's story, still have enough depth to keep me interested. I can't wait to see what the author does with her next series!

Hands down my favorite of the series, and I loved this series. I loved Jen's character development to ask what she wants and Abel's heart of gold that everyone could see but him. And for a series that's scorching hot already, Abel is in a class of his own. I'll never look at tequila the same way ever agaiin.

And by the sneak peek of what's to come, I'm not sure I can handle a Jessica Peterson cowboy...

All the stars for this amazing series.

Man. What a series conclusion. Jen and Abel did not disappoint and it’s now my favorite book I’ve read by Jessica.

The absolute chokehold Abel Miller has on me now. Jen and Abel have been friends for years, and Abel is Jen’s older brother’s best friend. When Jens dad gets sick and only wants his baby girl happy and settled, Abel offers to be her fake husband so she’s just that. The problem? Jen has been pinning after him for years. Now they’re living under the same roof, and spending all their time together and things get messy. And hot. 🥵 The MOUTH on that man? My god. 10/10

✨ Small Town
✨ Brothers Best Friend
✨ Fake Marriage
✨ “My Wife”
✨ “It’s always been you”
✨ Bad Boy/Good Girl

This was received as an E-ARC from Jessica and Valentine PR, but all opinions are my own 🫶🏻

I have been ready for Jen and Abel’s story since the end of Tuck and Maren’s story because Jessica is such a tease with these books! And I’m happy to say that Jen and Abel did not disappoint in the least. This is a fake relationship story and dang if I wasn’t here for it because I love a fake relationship story. I loved it even more because it was all Abel’s idea and he suggested it because he’s had a secret crush on Jen, his best friend’s little sister, for a decade. What better way to be with the girl you desperately want to be with than to be fake married to her? What Abel didn’t know was that Jen also had a crush on him–I mean, can you blame the girl when Abel is a big broody construction worker with a dark past? I can’t. We love a morally gray hero and a woman in her villain era and that was Jen and Abel to a tee. Abel also snuck in a few “my wife” moments that we all live for so that was swoon-worthy on its own. It was nice that Jen and Abel started as friends because they already had such a close bond that being in a relationship (even a fake one) only made them closer. I admired Jen a lot in this story because she was a people pleaser (and knew that about herself) but was trying so hard to break herself from that habit and live for herself and not for others. Abel helped her a lot with living for herself and breaking her people-pleasing habits because Abel was always living for himself and pushed Jen enough that she was able to live more for herself. Abel was a sweet cinnamon roll–even if he didn’t want people to see that side of himself–but he also had a dirty mouth a kinky side that Jen was totally here for (which, same girl). I thought it was so cute that Abel didn’t want to “corrupt” Jen with his kinkiness, but Jen made sure Abel felt safe being who he was in the bedroom–and outside of it, too. It helped that she realized that she was completely into anything Abel did to and with her. 😏 Jen and Abel both grew a lot as people during this story and I loved seeing it. Jen learned to start putting herself first sometimes and learned to be okay with not always making everyone happy all the time. Abel learned that he was a good man and wasn’t destined to destroy any happiness that came into his life just because of his traumatic childhood. Abel and Jen helped each other grow in this story, which I loved watching. Abel helped Jen embrace her selfishness and Jen helped Abel embrace his happiness in life. Jen and Abel had such fun banter because they were friends first and foremost, so they were able to joke with each other often. I loved all the cameos from our previous and beloved Harbour Village couples in this story, and how they all helped Jen and Abel during their relationship. This was an amazing story and the perfect conclusion to the Harbour Village series, but I can’t wait to see what happens in Jessica’s next story!

Quotes I Loved:

"Abel us that lethal combination of beautiful, broody, and forbidden that calls to me. I blame Edward Cullen for starting that trend." -Jen

"Lord Jesus, please help me not fuck up my fake marriage. Also, it'd be great if you could keep the alligators away from the dogs. Thank you and amen." -Abel (why is it always SO funny when they pray like this?!)

"This is why I can't spend too much time with this girl. She makes me believe, even for a minute, a second, that I might not be doomed. That there's a chance I won't repeat the toxic patterns mapped out in my blood." -Abel

"You marry me, you wear my ring. End of story." -Abel

"I'm the furthest thing from a hero. But no one ever said a villain can't save the day every once in a while." -Abel

"I have to get this right. I have one chance, and one chance only, to prove to the girl of my dreams that she doesn't have to be perfect for everyone. She's already perfect to me." -Abel

"When I'm with Abel, I feel like nothing about me is inconvenient." -Jen

Thank you, Jessica and Valentine PR, for providing me with an ARC!

I’ve got one chance, and once chance only, to prove to the girl of my dreams that she doesn’t have to be perfect for everyone."

I Wish We Had Forever is such a delicious conclusion to the Harbour Village series. I’ve been salivating for Jen and Abel’s story since the first book, and it was worth it.

yes, this is a romance about two people finally going after what they want (even if they wrap it up in a fake relationship first). but, it’s simultaneously a beautiful story about two people individually prioritizing their personal growth and well-beings.

I love that Jessica Peterson didn’t rely on miscommunication or other tedious issues. it was clear that Jen and Abel were meant to be; they just needed to do a bit of work on themselves first. they had to believe they were worth it.

filled with chemistry, heat, love, and family, I Wish We Had Forever is great for lovers of broody bad boys and recovering people pleasers. and it sets ups the next series so nicely!

☆ ARC Review I Wish We Had Forever by Jessica Peterson. ☆

IN LOVE. I'm in love with Abel, with Jen. With heir bond and the love they have and give to everyone around them. It's everything. I'm in love with this WHOLE damn town. Because why wouldn't you? Life goes slower on Bald Head Island. There's a bunch of sweet people and Abel lives there.
Jessica has a way of captivating your heart from the beginning. You deep dive into people's lives and it's all you need to bond with those characters. You feel with them, you cry with them and you're happy with them in the end.

My favorite passages in this book. Because witnessing all this love is just everything😍.

~ “Be proud of yourself, son.” Joe gives my shoulder a squeeze. “You know how to love someone well. Love them for who they are.” I swallow, thinking about how Jen’s in love with all sides of me. The dark and the light. How she’s welcomed both, inviting me to show up fully as I am. No alterations. No holding back.

~ “I think I learned how to love like that from Jenny.” Joe’s smile deepens. “She’s good at that, loving people for who they are. Makes you feel safe, doesn’t it?” “Yes,” I breathe. “Safe. Great way of putting it.”

~ “Your experience will be different than your daddy’s, Abel. Look how it already is. I know you’re worried that something bad will happen to y’all. And bad things will happen, that’s just life. But y’all have deep roots. A strong foundation built on years and years of friendship. Whatever storms that come y’all’s way, there’s a very good chance you’ll survive them.”

~ “You needed extra proof that you aren’t like him after y’all talked. That makes sense. You didn’t realize you were creating your own pattern all this time—a pattern of love. Hope. Exceptional kindness. God, Abel, that is beautiful.”

Jen & Abel have my heart forever 🧡

I loved their story so much and I can't wait for a new adventure with new characters from you! Thousand times thank you for giving me this ARC to read!

Back to Bald Head Island we go with the third book in the Harbour Village collection! I loved my time with Lu, Riley, Maren, Tuck, Lady and Joe in the previous stories that I gladly dropped everything to spend more time with these characters.

This time around, we get the HEA for Abel (Tuck's best friend) and Tuck's sister Jen. Obviously, it would be best to keep the line of friendship firmly in place between these two, so as not to ruin the dynamics of this group of friends and family, as they've managed to do for years. But, when a potentially devastating diagnosis in the group comes to light, they lean on each other again - only this time, Abel and Jen's chemistry and steamy attraction explodes. I have to admit, Abel has been a favorite of mine all series, so I was thrilled to receive a complimentary copy of this book. Oooh, the white hot scenes between these two, coupled with the underlying history of their connection kept the pages quickly turning. Soo steamy!! I really want to share my favorite parts of this story with you, but I don't do spoilers... seriously though, this is a great read.

As we all know, best laid plans often go awry, and it's impossible for them to keep the truth from coming out. This is a roller coaster ride of emotions in the best way. Fortunately all ends well for this couple, and I enjoyed their journey to their HEA. I recommend this author and this series. Best to read in order to avoid spoilers, definitely worth your time to do so. I am happy to leave my review, and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This really was very sweet. It was a quintessential small town romance with the added tension of forbidden romance and fake dating tropes.

Abel and Jen get together after receiving some dire news and agree to be fake husband and wife. What they don’t know is that they’re both helplessly in love with the other person but too scared to admit it.

I’ll admit I struggled with the slowburn and constant hiding of their feelings but it finally started picking up around the 50% mark when Jen finally spoke up and it went fast from there.

They were adorable together. There was so much history between them and it made such a great foundation for their love to build on. I loved that Abel fully supported Jen and wanted to make all her dreams come true. In turn Jen showed Abel what an amazing person he really was and that he truly could have it all.

I loved seeing all the characters from the previous books. They really did make one big, beautiful family. One of my absolute favourite scenes though was seeing Abel with Reese. That entire section of the book had me making the equivalent of this emoji 🥹 the whole time.

I liked that there wasn’t really a third act breakup. There was a bit of angst and Abel’s inner thoughts definitely could’ve ruined things but between Joe talking some sense into him and him and Jen talking openly, it was resolved really quickly.

Overall this was a little spicy, a lot sweet, and an all around good time. I’ll be sad to say goodbye to Harbour Village but I cannot wait for the Texas cowboys coming our way in the next series!

4 1/2 stars. I knew Abel wouldn’t let me down. I knew he could get spicy. Abel and Jen have been pining after each other for years in secret. They might not have been as subtle as they thought. This book has multiple tropes that I love. Fake relationships and brother’s best friend. I think this one is my favorite of the series. I would love to visit the island.

This entire series is just full of feel good reads. The characters, the community, the island, the EVERYTHING is just easy to fall in love with. Jen and Abel's story, just like those that came before them in this interconnected series, has a great deal of heart, depth and yes, spice too!

If you're in the mood for small town, fake marriage with all the feels, look no further, this is a book (and a series) you definitely want to get your hands on!

An ending to a series that has basically been the most important series for me to date. It’s a bittersweet ending. I’m so sad to see them go, I’m so happy to see them all with their happily ever after, I’m grateful for Riley Dixon.

I Wish We Had Forever follows the last of the best friends, Abel. He’s Tuck’s best friend. Yup, as in Jenn’s brother Tuck. So this brother’s best friend, marriage of convenience, childhood friends to lovers is the final installment in this small town series.

Abel and Jenn were always meant to be together and it would be wrong for them to not end up together. The chemistry is literally coming off the page and the spice was spicing 🔥 did I mention there was tequila and crawling?

She saved the best for last

There are so many things to love about this Harbour Village Series. The third and final book, I Wish We Had Forever, seals the deal for this being my favourite series of all time from author Jessica Peterson!

First of all, Jen is just so sweet and good and kind. I love that her feelings for Abel never once change. And I also adore that the good girl goes bad in the most fun way possible.

Abel too, has always loved Jen, and despite believing he’s unworthy of love, and especially of her, he’s always been loyal and sweet to her.

Together… well their pretend marriage goes nuclear between the sheets (and numerous other surfaces) and they’re absolutely swoon worthy when they’re not dancing in the dark. Abel is an expert at making Jen happy. And come on Jen… a cooking lesson for his favourite meal?! They make me melt even a day later…

I’m always grateful for skipping the unnecessary breakup. A love this perfect would have hurt to breakup, all to have them back together a few pages later. Thank goodness for Papa Joe and his amazing insight that gets Abel right back on track for happily ever after.

In fact, this book is so dang good and Abel so perfect, I’m making him only my ninth GOATBB (Greatest of All Time Book Boyfriend). Sigh…

Thank you Jessica! I’m so excited for your cowboy era coming next!

Concluding the Harbour Village series with finesse, I Wish We Had Forever emerges as my clear favorite. Against the backdrop of Bald Head Island's charm, it delves into the lives of its inhabitants with depth and authenticity.
Jen, a perpetual people-pleaser chasing an elusive dream, decides to finally take what she really wants– Abel, her fake husband. Abel, scarred by his unpleasant upbringing, struggles with his feelings for Jen, his best friend's sister, while battling his inner demons.
The story's emotional depth is remarkable. From moments of sadness to sheer joy, from laughter to heartfelt yearning, each emotion is skillfully intertwined throughout the book. I found myself captivated, devouring each page at a rapid pace!
Jen and Abel's journey shines as the highlight of the series. Their tale embodies the essence of love, sacrifice, and personal growth. It serves as a fitting finale to an exceptional series, leaving me thoroughly fulfilled.

Marriage of Convenience✅
Small Town Romance✅

I knew I was going to love Jen and Abel, but Jessica absolutely outdid herself!

Jen is a deeply relatable FMC that had showed incredible growth in not only asking for what she wants, but also standing up for what she deserves. As a partially reformed pathological people pleaser, I loved everything about it.

Abel Miller. Holy. Freaking. Smokes. Not only is he broody, but he’s SO TENDER with his Jenny. This man is down bad and I loved every single second of him realizing he had learned to love her differently than the way he was raised.

The chemistry between these two? Off the charts. It was five alarm fire HOT.🔥

Also, a special shoutout to my girls Cher and Tai. As a dachshund mom, I loved seeing the part they played in Jen and Abel’s love story.

I am so bummed Harbour Village has come to an end, but bring on Lucky River Ranch!🫶🏼

This series has been so much fun and every book is SO good! After the previous book I was dying to see Jen get her HEA but I was hesitant about Abel. I was protective of her for sure but hot damn this man y’all 🥵 He won me over for sure by the end and there were some reasons for his surliness that made it easy to forgive him. The secretive factor this had due to the fake marriage was hot and when the spice hit things were beyond hot. There was also plenty of sweetness too, the whole southern charm thing this series has is the best and it’s the perfect combination of sugar and spice. I’m super sad the series is over but thrilled about the authors next one!

I LOVED THIS!!!!! I really enjoyed the second one in this series and didn’t know if I’d be as invested in this one but I was wrong! It’s really special to me when I’m reading about a character that I truly connect with, and that’s how I felt with Jen. This was a super sweet and spicy, marriage of convenience (maybe more fake marriage to make a sick family member happy? lol), brother best friend romcom. Both Jen and Able were super mature and there was no silly 3rd act break up work unnecessary drama, and I loved seeing Tuck and Maren again!!

Need a feel good, brother’s best friend, fake relationship, story? I Wish We Had Forever is it. Abel and Jen’s chemistry is intense. This series is about family and what you do for family, not necessarily blood family either. Jen and Abel find their HEA after a bumpy road full of emotions and some seriously hot bedroom scenes. I really want to know which minivan they go for.

Oh my goddddd Jen & Abel are everything to me

I loved EVERY single page of this!!! Jen + Abel are the definitions of soulmates. They have spent their lives circling each other, secretly pining after one another, and then become fake married to one another. Truly a recipe for the perfect book. I just adored Jen's character, her willingness to embrace change and become the most authentic version of herself and Abel just cheering her on along the way.

The way these two loved each other before they put a name on it was sooooo good!! The tender pining, the way they thought of each other in passing, the angst at thinking they couldn't be together for real! The angst made my stomach hurt and made the relationship build soooo beautifully!

Pick this one up if you like:
-fake marriage
-mutual secret pining
-forced proximity
-brother's best friend
-two ADORABLE dachshunds!!!

This is my favorite in the series and I cannot wait to grab a physical copy and annotate!! This series is so so so delightful!!

Thank you SO much to Jessica Peterson & Valentine PR for the ARC <3

Jen Monroe has wanted her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember. He’s the bad boy that stole her heart without knowing it. She’s looking for forever but can’t seem to find the leading man in any of the men she’s dated. Unrequited love seems to be the theme of her life.

Abel Miller is the most sought out construction worker on Bald Head Island. He’s talented and has an eye for detail. He’s also the bad boy with a revolving bedroom door, or at least that’s what he wants everyone to believe. What he does not want them to know is his true feelings, his true self.

Abel and Jen are perfect together. Abel allows Jen to truly be herself and challenges her to ask for the things she wants. Jen brings out the true desires within Abel and has him thinking of a future he never thought possible. Together they show each other anything is possible with the right person.

My expectations were high for this couple and they did not disappoint. I loved everything about this book, and it’s my favorite of the series!

I Wish We Had Forever has over a decade of mutual pining and longing, brother’s best friend, one bed, and friends to lovers, all in the cutest island small town. Together, Abel and Jen learn about themselves, grow, and find the happiness and passion they didn’t think they could have. Their emotional story of being vulnerable and having faith in each other made this one so special to me. What a way to end a wonderful series!

𝐈 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐖𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 is the 3rd book in the new Harbour Village series by Jessica Peterson, featuring a steamy brother’s best friend, fake marriage romance for Jen and Abel. He’s been her fantasy man since they were teenagers, but forever is not in that badboy's plans. However, when her dad gets sick and reveals that he wants to see all his kids settled and happy, Abel volunteers to pretend to marry her for her dad’s benefit. She’s not supposed to fall in love, but the chemistry between them could start a forest fire. Can she convince Abel that he is not defined by his past and that he deserves love, or is heartbreak on the horizon?

I have enjoyed each book in this series, but I think Abel and his Jenny are my new favorite couple from Harbour Village!! The world building is obviously great, but the characters are just so compelling with authentic emotions, angsty mutual pining, and scorching passion leaping from the pages!!🔥🔥 I love the bond that Abel had with Joe, Jenny’s dad, adding to an awesome found family vibe. Joe’s storyline hit pretty close to home for me and triggered some tears, so if illness in a parent could hit you in the feels, be ready. The book has a little of everything— a little drama and action, secrets, sweet moments like cooking lessons, and two adorable doggies. Personally, I love a strong heroine who goes after what she wants, and a dirty-talking bad boy with a heart of gold that really wants to believe he deserves his dream girl. Jenny and Abel are perfect together, and it was fun to see the couples from the previous books again!! Don’t miss this amazing story!!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another new author I've discovered this year and have enjoyed their way of writing😊. Thank you Jessica Peterson and ValentinePR for this advanced reader copy 🫶🏼.

In the center of the story we have Jen and Abel. They were connected by the friendship between Abel and Jen's older brother, Tuck. Each of them tought they had their feelings burried deep down but the chemistry between them was obvious for everybody. But Abel never considered himself worthy for Jen, so he never tried to take a chance with her. Until a bad news draws them together and makes them think to fake dating.

To ease her father's concerns of having a happy life, Jen accepts to be Abel's fake wife and to ensure her dad that she found happiness in the arms of this man. For this to be real, Abel suggests to Jen to move in with him and this step makes them even more aware of each others feelings and presence in each others space.

There is a fine line between this fake marriage and a real one, because they grow to be closer with each day they are spending together. Until all the barriers are being broken and they become addicted to each other. There were some really steamy scenes with them and I blushed so hard at a couple of them 🤭. The way the author decided to describe these scenes was really good.🔥

I liked how Jen and Abel influenced each other in better and how their love was so sincere. The secondary characters played a big role in the story, especially Joseph, Jen's father.

This book is for the readers who look for a life story which is entwined with many spicy parts, but from my point of view nothing too cringe.
These were the tropes reached in this book:
💞 #FakeDating;
💞 #MarriageOfConvenience;
💞 #FriendsToLovers;
💞 #FirstLove;
💞 #BrothersBestFriend;
💞 #DualPov;
💞 #BadBoyGoodGirl
