Check your wrist size
Somewhat difficult to get started. Seems to target isolated athletes. Not great for classes. Track me is good for walks. Weather app is fantastic.Pulse Ox takes a while to adjust. Watch face is large, it covers the width of my wrist; I could have gone smaller. Wrist band is an improvement with a double loop. Crystal is a much smarter attachment (mechanical) than the Forerunner (glued). Mapping is much improved by the better display.

Shockingly Amazing
I was not in the market for a smart watch, but just purchased a Garmin 40 and realized I couldn’t get heart rate from my Apple Watch, which led me to the Epix sapphire that was on sale. After using the 1040 with its Horribly dated and clunky interface I was fully prepared to be underwhelmed by the Epix but this thing is absolutely incredible!!! The accuracy of the biometric tracking is downright scary, the screen is gorgeous, and the battery life is insane. My only complaints are as follows. The navigation search by name feature doesn’t really work but thankfully I have that covered with the 1040 for cycling and I don’t need to navigate to specific locations while on a run. I originally ordered the epix in white because I love the lighter titanium bezel but didn’t realize until I got it that the case was white which just looks weird with any other strap that isn’t white. So I returned it for the black and all is good, but I would certainly prefer the lighter titanium bezel and bracelet if they just made the plastic case in a matching hue.

Battery life
Switching from Apple to Garmin. Battery life is fantastic. I do miss a lot of features the Apple Watch paired with the phone gives you. Pairing the Garmin watch with an Apple phone really reduces features. I miss the “find my phone” and the ability to read and reply to text messages and phone calls. Happy with the change so far.

Load of options
I bought the watch because I forgot to bring a charger for my Garmin Advantage. Fortunately, both use the same port. Epix has a lot of options but it is not straightforward to figure out. One of my complaints is that it doesn't always show the time to save the battery, which is fine, but I have to often shake somewhat violently to check the time.
