Brisbane Broncos centre and England international Herbie Farnworth in stunning revelation after being linked with huge move

If there is one player that is quietly going about his current business it is Brisbane Broncos centre and England hopeful Herbie Farnworth.

The strike player is said to be making a miraculous recovery from a ruptured bicep injury that, at first glance, was expected to rule Farnworth out for the rest of the season.

However, the 23-year-old could return for the finals, his head coach Kevin Walters has revealed.

“Herbie is back running now which is good and he is gradually getting back into some skill work,” Walters told the Herald Sun.

“I believe he is a bit ahead of schedule.

“We expect him to be back a couple of weeks out from the finals which is great news for Herbie and for us.”

It’s a major boost for the Broncos who have been trying to work out the centre’s future beyond 2022.

Brisbane initially managed to tie Farnworth down to a 12-month contract with the promise of playing at fullback.

That promise, however, looks set to be broken with the signing of Reece Walsh from the New Zealand Warriors, whilst Selwyn Cobbo’s lucrative multi-million dollar deal will see the teenager compete for that elusive number one shirt.

With that in mind, Fox Sports has revealed that a number of NRL clubs are now circling Farnworth in a bid to make him their number one choice at fullback – and it has been revealed today that the Dolphins are ready to recircle their man whom they missed out on for 2023, though a number of Sydney clubs are reportedly keen on getting Farnworth’s signature.

Farnworth himself revealed earlier in the year that he had to ‘weigh up’ his options before signing a short-term deal at the Broncos.

“I am happy with the Broncos and I love everyone here, but I have to weigh up my options,” Farnworth told The Australian.

“Obviously I love the Broncos, I have been here since I was 15 years old, but I have to do the best thing for myself.

“It’s nice to know for sure that clubs are interested. I’ve only heard it through the media that clubs are chasing me, but I’ll be sitting down with my management team and my uncle Brian (Foley, legendary Wigan scout) and come up with the best option for me.

“I haven’t been talking to any clubs myself. I have been letting my agents talk to the clubs and then I will meet with them in the next couple of weeks and sit down and go through all the options.”

Farnworth was heavily linked with a move to new NRL side the Dolphins for 2023 with head coach Wayne Bennett an avid admirer of the centre, but that move fell through as the Englishman penned a new deal with the Broncos.
