Max Dunkerley’s funeral and family fundraiser
Donation protected
On Thursday, June 30th, Max Dunkerley was snorkeling in the Bahamas (there to celebrate his parents’ 50th wedding anniversary) when he was caught in a rip tide and drowned. His wife, Kylie, was held back on the beach by well-meaning onlookers as resort guests performed CPR for nearly 30 minutes until an ambulance arrived.
Max leaves behind an adoring wife, five children, and a legacy of kindness and love. While the Dunkerley’s church family has quickly and graciously rallied to provide meals and support, emergency expenses are quickly mounting in working with a foreign government to return Max’s body to Alabama. The family is also adjusting to making ends meet with just Kylie’s public school teacher salary.
Max was so gracious with his time, talent, and resources throughout his life. He made time to help others for requests big and small, and now it’s Max who needs help. The consummate provider and protector, he is unable to shield his family from this grief and devastation. In lieu of flowers, please give to help the Dunkerleys through this time. Give like Max would give - from the heart and with a prayer for healing.
Viewing and funeral details will be posted here as soon as they are available.
