Salary Grade: NC 14   Salary range:  $47,959 - $83,928


This position could be filled in Dare County or Craven County.

The NCDOT Ferry Division is a unique and encompassing system that supports residents and visitors in the eastern North Carolina coastal regions. The NC Ferry Division consists of over 350 employees who operate 21 ferries over seven established routes. These operations are supported by another 150 employees who maintain the vessels in a full-service shipyard as well as the employees who operate and maintain the dredge, crane barge, support tugs, and its support vessels necessary to keep the channels and basins operational. In order to maintain, operate, and plan the needs of the Division there are several working units that provide professional services such as Vessel Asset Management, Marine Asset Management, Business Office, Operations, Safety, Security, Planning and Development, Environmental, Facility Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Engineering.

The Human Resources Unit provides the Ferry Division with resources for staffing operations with qualified personnel. The HR Programs Coordinator IV will be the recruiting coordinator for the Ferry Division and will be the lead on organizing career fairs and recruiting on social media and on job sites. They will also be responsible for scheduling training and continue education for USCG licensed personnel with maritime schools and work with employees on advancement opportunities.  Work includes establishing career paths with NCDOT HR that best aligns with Ferry Division needs. The position will also be responsible for ensuring that all state and federal laws personnel policy and agency standards are met. Employees perform high-level administrative work in developing and maintaining division functionality. Work is performed under limited supervision and includes the supervision of staff who are in facilities located in other parts of the state.

The program area for this position includes experience working in job recruitment and/or experience in Human Resources.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in the program related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
