Mrunal Thakur to Join Hands With Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan for Their Comedy Flick? Here’s What We Know

Following her appearance in 'Family Star', there are reports of Mrunal Thakur joining Varun Dhawan for his upcoming film, reportedly directed by Varun's father, David Dhawan.

Mrunal Thakur has been making the headlines ever since she began with her promotions for her upcoming movie ‘Family Star’ along with co-actor Vijay Deverakonda. Now, a set of reports about the actress is doing rounds on the internet which claims that Mrunal will be featuring alongside Varun Dhawan in his upcoming film. The actress will reportedly play the lead role in the movie. The movie is produced by Ramesh Taurani and is expected to hit the big screens in May or June this year. The reports also mention that Varun’s father David Dhawan will direct the movie.

According to Pinkvilla’s report, David and Varun are all set to join hands. This will mark the fourth time when the father-son duo will come together for a project. Previous to this untitled project, the duo worked together for ‘Main Tera Hero‘, ‘Judwaa 2‘, and ‘Coolie No. 1‘. Coming to the untitled film, the movie is touted to fall under the comedy genre.

A source close to Pinkvilla said, “This is the first time that Varun and Mrunal are collaborating on a film, and everyone attached to the project is extremely excited about this fresh pairing. Mrunal and David Sir have had a couple of meetings as well, and the film is expected to roll in May or June of this year. The preparation is underway, and the second female lead will be signed very soon.”

Coming to Mrunal’s work front, the actress will be seen in Family Star with Vijay Deverakonda. The movie will be released on April 11. On the other hand, Varun will be seen in Raj and DK’s ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny‘. It also stars Samantha in a significant role. In addition to this, Varun is working on a film backed by Atlee and Murad Khetani, titled ‘Baby John’, which will feature Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles.
