JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Program Coordinator Div/Dept: Global Operations Location: Thissa and Kirinda Reporting Relationship: Field Manager (Monragala/Hambanthota) Summary Overall execution of programs/projects which are planed under all life stages, DRR and child protection within the assigned location in accordance with the plan. Ensure the quality of the implementation including meaningful participation of impact group and target group. Help Program Specialists and Field Manager to establish and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships with relevant government and other stakeholders. Do the field level monitoring, supervision and ensure timely implementation, generation of outputs as per ChildFund expectation. He/she is responsible for all SR functions and progress reporting too.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist program specialists in designing program/project interventions.
- Establish community network and support structures for effective program delivery and enhance their skills and capacities accordingly.
- Responsible for quality and effective program implementation in regular coordination with county office technical team.
- Responsible for preparation of ToR, and other necessary documents to obtain external technical assistance for effective project implementation.
- Responsible for budget management and ensuring monthly 95% burn rate of the given budget.
- Ensures continues monitoring & evaluation happen based on the M & E plans to ensure achievement of program outcomes. Execution of project activities and ensure the effective and efficient resource utilization.
- Responsible for the collection and sharing of field level data and information for the development of concept papers and/or project proposals for resource mobilization purposes.
- Organize community meeting, workshops, reviews etc in collaboration with beneficiaries, volunteers and other stakeholders as per the requirement of program specialist.
- Provide onsite visits to program beneficiaries to monitor progress, assess program effectiveness and provide feedback to the field manager and the technical team.
- Provides documentation and status reports for donor requirements.
- Enrollment of children, sponsor communications, preparing CPR, submitting case stories, photos, videos etc.
- Liaises with government and other stakeholders and build up productive relationships and partnerships.
- Organize activities for capacity building of volunteers, target groups and program beneficiaries.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years’ experience in implementing projects/programs in the domain of development and protection, child rights or community empowerment.
- At least 03 years’ experience in ECD, RPP, livelihood and/or entrepreneurship development.
- Good knowledge in community mobilization including participatory assessments, reviews, community training etc.
- Working knowledge in general office software applications (Eg. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Demonstrated experience with the design, implementation, management and evaluation of early childhood development programs.
- Fluent in the local language
- Good oral/written communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to spend 70% of the time in the program locations and communities.
- Must have a motor bicycle riding license.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sociology, or any other development related subject.
