German concern Mercedes-Benz has shown a new crossover GLC 2023 — 2024. An overview of the novelty.

Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new generation of crossover GLC 2023 — 2024 model year.

The car has received a slightly modified design and function as a «soft hybrid».

Overview The Mercedes GLC 2023 is based on the universal platform on which, for example, the C-Class is built: a four-lever suspension at the front and a multi-lever suspension at the rear.

The top models of the GLC have an air suspension.

Externally the novelty is distinguished by a new design of headlights and an updated front grille.

Inside the cabin we can highlight a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and a large 11.9-inch display tablet of the multimedia system.

The updated crossover became 60 mm longer and 4 mm lower than its predecessor, while the front and rear tracks increased by 6 mm and 23 mm, respectively.

The trunk now has a capacity of 620 liters compared with 550 liters previously.

Specifications of the GLC 2023

The car will be offered in six modifications: three «moderate» hybrids and three rechargeable.

The «moderate» hybrids have a 48-volt starter-generator that adds 23 hp and 200 Nm to the power of the internal combustion engines:

The rechargeable hybrids have an internal combustion engine supplemented by a 136-hp electric motor and a 31.2-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery:

The GLC 200 4Matic (204 hp and 320 Nm), GLC 300 4Matic (258 hp and 400 Nm) and GLC 200 d 4Matic (197 hp and 440 Nm) versions will get a 48-volt starter generator.

It will briefly add 23 hp and 200 Nm to the power of the combustion engines.

On purely electric power, the hybrids can travel up to 120 kilometers. It takes only half an hour to charge the battery (from powerful 60-kilowatt terminals).

All modifications of Mercedes GLC 2023-2024 are equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

For the first time, the crossover offers a fully steerable chassis for an additional fee: the rear wheels are slightly rotated (by 4.5 degrees)

Price and release date

Options and prices for the new Mercedes GLC 2023-2024 have not yet been announced. The start date of sales is also still unknown.

The list of available equipment for the crossover includes heated and massage seats, panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, all-around vision system, head-up display and Burmester audio.
