In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Stable Manager, overseeing various crucial aspects. Your duties span a wide spectrum, from managing a professional livery service to supporting students with their horses and fostering a nurturing learning environment.
Meticulous record-keeping to ensure seamless administrative processes, while maintaining exemplary standards in horse care remains paramount. In the Stable Manager’s absence, you’ll take the lead in the running of the yard, handling horse health emergencies and establishing clear and effective communication channels with clients, vets, farriers and suppliers. You’ll also ensure that the horses, equipment and vehicles are suitably prepared for competitions and events.
The ideal candidate will have industry experience in maintaining high standards of horse care, with a minimum qualification of BHS Stage 3 care. You will be confident in handling fit competition horses and possess a good understanding of the nutritional needs of a variety of horses. Additionally, you will have previous supervisory experience and demonstrate confidence in leading a team in the absence of the Stable Manager.
This is a full time, all year-round position working on average of 48 hours per week throughout the year. During term time you will work between the hours of 6:45am to 6:30pm, 5 days per week and during non-term time you will work between the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm, 5 days per week, with a 1.5-hour lunch break.
In return, you will receive a salary of £31,100.16 per annum along with a range of staff benefits. On site accommodation is available in an ensuite room with shared lounge and kitchen at the affordable rate of £110 per month, inclusive of bills and all meals.
