The Adaptive Cycling Center is officially open for the season!

The center officially opened on Saturday, May 4 and featured free adaptive bike use, an adaptive bike rodeo, cycling vendors and a nature hike with Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation and David's Chair.

“Access to our local parks is especially important and thanks to the support of the City of Reno and David's Chair we get to be a part of increasing the opportunities available in our community," said Heidi Anderson, Executive Director of Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation.

The adaptive cycling center opened in 2023 and is part of the City of Reno's commitment to improving accessibility and promoting outdoor recreation regardless of ability. It serves as a launching point to access the Southeast Connector bike trail, as well as connecting to the Tahoe-Pyramid Bike trail and its proximity to the community's bike trail systems makes it a prime location for the City’s adaptive equipment rental hub.

“The City is proud to provide a space where people with disabilities can explore and enjoy the outdoors,” said April Wolfe, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist at the City. “We are grateful to our partners at David’s Chair and Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation for their shared commitment and dedication to making open spaces accessible for all.”
