Middle School & High School Resource Room
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year
My name is Lanaie Morgan, and this will be my sixth year as a special education teacher at Sheridan Schools. Prior to this position, I taught primary grade levels for 13 years.
My Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education is from the University of Montana, and my endorsement in PK-12 Special Education was completed through the University of Montana-Western.
I live with my husband, Ryan, and our son, Charlie (6th grade), outside of Sheridan. Our family spends a lot of time outdoors hiking, bike riding, camping, fishing, and gardening. We also love visiting new places and traveling whenever we get the chance!
I'm excited about the 2023-24 school year and look forward to helping our students have a positive school experience and achieve academic success. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress or simply want to touch base.

ABOUT THE RESOURCE ROOM
The Resource Room is a safe, encouraging learning environment designed to help support students with diverse learning needs. We strive to meet each student's individual needs by assisting them with developing skills and strategies to enhance their abilities, reach personal goals, meet annual Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals, and achieve academic success. Differentiated and individualized lessons are provided in a 1:1 and/or small group setting. The Resource Room staff works closely with parents, general education teachers, and administration to ensure the support is helping the student to reach their full potential.
Our goals:
To increase success and independence within the general education environment
To provide increased access to the general education curriculum and environment through the use of appropriate accommodations, modifications, and instructional remediation
To assist in achieving IEP goals
To maintain communication with each student's team (student, parents, administration, general education teachers, and other staff involved with the education of the student)
To promote self-advocacy skills within the school and community
To develop disability awareness, self-respect, and acceptance of all people
