AMD shares updated performance charts for RDNA2/RDNA3 GPUs
AMD published a new article on their community page focusing on the current Radeon RX 7000/6000 GPUs. Naturally, the newest RDNA3 GPUs take the top places in the latest performance rankings, but at the same time they are the more expensive than their RDNA2 predecessors.
AMD Radeon RX 7900 and RX 6000 cards have been put together in one chart, showing how the current and last-gen GPU lineup stacks up. While Radeon RX 7900 series offer much better price to performance than NVIDIA RTX 4090/4080 GPUs, this chart would suggest that Radeon RX 6950XT is still a much better choice than RX 7900 XT. At 4K resolution, the RX 7900 XTX offers 180 FPS on average, so 7% more than RX 6950XT.

The performance gap narrows at lower 1080p resolution. The company used the latest street prices for each card, which means that RX 6950XT now costs $699 and offers 338 FPS on average. Meanwhile, RX 7900 XT which is now available at $899 offers 355 FPS on average.
This means 5% higher performance at nearly 29% higher price. Needless to say, the RX 6900 series might be a much better choice here.

AMD did not include Radeon RX 6900 XT SKU in this comparison, which is listed by various stores for as low as $649. However, the stock of this card is very low, and it is much harder to find these days, and therefore pricing would not reflect availability.
Independent tests have shown that both RX 7900 and RX 6800+ series are still better priced than their RTX 40 counterparts. The only Ada Lovelace GPU that gets anywhere close to RDNA series is the newest RTX 4070 Ti model:

The pricing for the newest models has stabilized enough for AMD and NVIDIA to consider launching more affordable options soon. This will only happen once the stock of last-gen models is depleted, which is sadly not the case yet.
