Dawn Theme : Show discount % on the discounted products in collection page and product page

Store Design

AI-generated summary

Goal: Display discount percentage (savings) alongside price on Shopify’s Dawn theme for collection and product pages.

Recent contributions:

  • A developer guide was shared (liquify.design) that explains how to calculate and show percentage discounts using Shopify theme code. Links are central to implementation; no code snippet was posted in the thread.
  • An app suggestion (Codeboost) was provided. It shows promotional badges/messages with discount code percentages on collection, product, and cart pages, and can target specific customers. Note: This is focused on discount codes rather than the built-in compare-at pricing.

Follow-up questions:

  • Users asked whether the solution works on both collection and product pages and where exactly to place the code. A reply confirmed the code works for both contexts, but did not specify the file locations or steps.

Status:

  • Partially addressed. Guidance and an app alternative were provided, but detailed implementation steps (exact theme files/sections to edit in Dawn) remain unanswered. The thread appears open with a request for code placement instructions.

Key terms:

  • Dawn theme: Shopify’s default theme.
  • Compare-at price: Original price used to show discounts versus current price; basis for computing % off.

Hi @Rabihsharara , I’m not sure if this is what you are looking for but this app Codeboost I use let’s you promote discount codes across your website really well. You can add custom messages including the percentage the discount code will apply on the eligible produxts

Description from marketplace:

Codeboost will allow you to display badges and messages above eligible products in the collections page, product page and cart page. Additionally you can only show these promotions selectively and privately to specific customers!

Hopefully this helps!
