Wel,, here's the reason why my "normal" whif output has been rather low during the past weeks: a literally big(ger) project for a group build in another forum - nevertheless, despite the SF theme, it's still a whif, a non-canonical interpretation and modification of a Biker Scout/Speeder Bike set from Ep. VI, in this case two models from an 1:12 Bandai combo kit, plus a display base (50x15cm) for both in a desert setting. Finally done!

I'll admit I don't understand the genre, but that is some impressive build

1:12?!  :o

Jeepers, how big is it then? We need a Scale Reference Cat in a pic, but not one of those 'special' pots of Tamiya paint!

It looks very impressive whatever size it is.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Airfix did a range of 1/12 figures back in the day Kit. I had the Lifeguard Trumpeter and Yeoman of the Guard from memory they were 8" high or so ?

JayBee

I remember them as well, I had The Black Prince, and his lance was rather more than 8".
Alle kunst ist umsunst wenn ein engel auf das zundloch brunzt!!

Sic biscuitus disintegratum!

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

The figure would be about 6" tall Kit, and the speeder about 8" long
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

The Scout (which is actually an action figure model) is roughly 6" tall, and the bike is 12" long. The Bandai kit is, except for one or two weak points, excellent, actually snap-fit models that look good even without paint. But I wanted a personal touch, so the Speeder Bike received some battle scars and a different load on the back, and the Biker Scout received a desert cammo and some minor tweaks to the suit, too. Both stand on a display base, 6x20" in size, with a resin rock (actually deco for a terrarium!) and a tiny lodger hidden in the crevices. The stand on the right end of the base, supported on a clear pylon (edited away in the pics, though).

Glad you like it!

Where does the sniper keep the weapon while on the bike?

Dizzyfugu

Well, that's one of the questions science fiction cannot satisfactorily answer...  ;)

BTW, if anyone is interested, here's a collection of the WiP in pics (~70 pics, yes it took a while and includes the Bike, the Scout and the display base). A description has still to be added, though:

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It flies alongside using it's own repulsor lift, propulsion and nevigation technologies, yet somehow still needs a human to point it at a target by eye... ;)

It needs 'Positive Visual Confirmation' before it will fire.  ;D
