LEMUR MOM
One Mother's Adventure in Autism

Starring Megan Dolan

Sunday, April 14, 2024 · 5pm

Lemur Mom is a dynamic one woman show written by and starring Megan Dolan. It is a special needs comedy that explores - with warmth, humor, and brutal honesty - one mother's adventures in autism. Almost immediately after giving birth Megan has the distinct feeling that she’s not doing it right. As she navigates the treacherous world of support groups, child psychologists, and play-dates for a child on the spectrum - making what feels like countless wrong turns along the way - she ultimately discovers that though she may feel she's not the right mom, in reality she's exactly the right mom.

Megan is a Long Beach-based mother/writer/actor/storyteller who has performed at The Moth, the Hollywood Fringe Festival, and as part of "Expressing Motherhood," and whose written work has been published in LA Parent Magazine. Her TEDx talk, "Messy Mommy: A Slob in the Shadows" can be seen on Youtube, and that digital presence became even more important when the pandemic brought her planned Lemur Mom SoCal tour to a halt for three years. She is thrilled to be back telling this engaging, heartfelt story.

Audience members are invited to stay for a Q&A with Megan Dolan immdeiately following the performance.
