This is a well written enemies to lovers romance with strong characters in Ryan and Brooke. The author takes you into their lives with an office romance, emotions and love and kept me reading with his determination along with the twists along the way. She moves the story fluidly with her descriptive scenes and delivers an enjoyable read.

I enjoy a good enemies to lovers romance novel, and as this author is new to me, I was more than happy to delve right in. Brooke and Ryan are business rivals, and to begin with Ryan chased Brooke for purely selfish reasons. But as he gets to know her more, those reasons changed and he wanted her in his life on a personal level. There were plenty of instances Brooke didn’t trust the change in Ryan and it did get frustrating to me each time she did a backflip. It is warranted but I felt like just yelling at my kindle to give him a chance. I obviously have some issues if I think it’s normal to yell at an inanimate object about fictional characters. Oh well…. Towards the end of the story there is a massive twist that I definitely didn’t see coming. My only issue with this was that I was hoping that the people involved received some sort of comeuppance, but maybe that’s just me getting overly invested again in fictional characters.

This is Ryan and Brooke’s story. Brooke returns home for a short visit, she is pushed out of her comfort zone as she never expected to take over her family business, but her dad appoints her CEO, now she needs to learn how to run a business and avoid any distractions. Ryan is a playboy, who is used to getting what he wants, and that is Brooke, but he may have his hands full with convincing her. This is a good story which has family, friendships, enemies / lovers, emotions, office romance, twists, challenges, determination, and love, which leads to an enjoyable page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.
Do you love office romance and/or enemies to lovers? This is a pretty good one. There were some parts that felt a little frustrating due to some trust issues but overall this book was well written. Ryan and Brooke are the ultimate business rivals and it shows. But I liked the way the author tied it all together. And the twists kept me flipping the pages.

the author has written an Enemies to lovers romance with a twist. No spoilers but the ending was not how I saw it playing out. The characters seemed to have a real change in traits as the story progressed. Enjoyable read.

I've read several books written by Lizzie James; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
She has written a good stand-alone book. The story is about Brooke & Ryan; she comes to London to visit her father but he names her acting CEO for the family business; he’s her business rival.
4 1/2 stars Interesting characters and a great storyline made this book an entertaining read. I liked the way the author crafted the characters and their interactions. Each chapter was fraught with chemistry laden drama. Nicely done.

The author has given us an enemy-to-lovers story that pulls us into the lives of Brooke and Ryan. The story keeps us turning the pages with connection, denial, secrets, betrayal and steam.
