About Tia

Tia Wood is a piano instructor, accompanist, and classical/jazz event musician in the DC/Northern VA area. She teaches both group and private lessons and holds a B.M. in Music/Business with a piano concentration from Grove City College. Tia has taught piano lessons for the past 15+ years and has extensive experience in performing for events such as weddings, graduations, and dinner parties as well as accompanying both vocalists and instrumentalists.

Currently, in addition to frequently gigging solo at events in both a classical and jazz capacity, Tia enjoys exploring the versatility that piano has to offer. She has served for 8+ years as the keyboardist in a church worship band, performed in many coffeehouses, accompanied vocalists and instrumentalists for competitions, recorded works for film, and arranged music for various instrumentation.

Tia is also passionate about performing arts management. She has worked for the Center for the Arts at George Mason University, helping to bring world-class performances to the greater NoVA area, the Hylton Performing Arts Center, and the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra. She has also served as both the Vice President and Treasurer of the Grove City College Chamber & Symphonic Orchestra.
