The BIG JAM is Calshot’s very own open climbing competition for everyone to take part in that uses the same routes as the BMC Youth Climbing Series competition.
The competition will be running from 6 – 30 November, so there’s plenty of time to test your skills and top up those scores. This friendly competition is a great introduction to climbing competitions and a great way to meet other likeminded local climbers.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Points are earned according to how many attempts it takes to complete each climb and the difficulty/grading of each route.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The competition is open to all members and visitors of The Wall at Calshot. The groups are split into under 12s, under 18s, over 18s and over 40s.
COMPETITION FEES
The Calshot BIG JAM competition is free to enter but the usual Calshot climbing fees apply.
The Wall is open daily for experienced climbers to train and climb recreationally. We have lots of great ways for you to enjoy climbing at Calshot. You can climb with us as a visitor, or you can enjoy the many benefits of becoming a member. For more information on wall opening times and prices see our webpage. There’s also a range of climbing equipment to hire at Calshot, from helmets to climbing shoes.
POINTS MEAN PRIZES!
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category after the competition has finished on Thursday 1 December, 6.30pm. The prizes include an exciting selection of climbing goodies, so get involved and win yours!
