Will recently made a guest appearance on the Office Ladies podcast for an exclusive conversation with The Office co-stars Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) and Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin), and when asked about the “stunt gone wrong,” Ferrell had no recollection.

“Wait, I don’t remember it [going wrong,]” Will said of the basketball scene he shot that required him to be catapulted into the backboard. While the scene was meant to cause injury to his character, according to Fischer and Kinsey it left Ferrell with a banged up knee.

“I remember it story-wise,” Will said. “When I re-visited the episode, I remember doing the thing, I go for the basketball dunk and it falls on me but it’s all off-camera. Did something go array?”

Kinsey goes on to explain the pulley system that they hooked Will up to for the scene was not physically stable and on the second take they pulled him too hard sending him "straight into the backboard.”

“We were mortified!” Added Fischer.

Replied Will, “How do I not have a memory of this?”

Are we sure they didn’t hit Will’s head on that backboard?

To hear more about the stunt as well as other memories from filming and updates on WIll’s life in general, check out his conversation with Kinsey and Fischer on the Office Ladies podcast above.
