BAYADA Home Health Care To Open Pennsauken Center for Applied Behavior Analysis

Center is the first office of its kind in the Continental U.S. for the not-for-profit home health care provider.

BAYADA Home Health Care, a leading not-for-profit home health care provider, today announced it will open the BAYADA Pennsauken Center for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services to provide in-home, school, and center-based behavioral support and treatment for children and adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or an intellectual or developmental disability. This office, which is located in Pennsauken, NJ, and is currently accepting clients, is BAYADA’s first office of its kind in the Continental U.S.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), autism affects an estimated 1 in 44 children in the United States. In New Jersey, 1 in 35 children are affected. The BAYADA Pennsauken Center will focus on providing ABA and evidence-based methodologies aimed at increasing functional skills, with the goal of clients participating in their communities with confidence, independence, and success.

“We’re thrilled to expand our ABA services to the Pennsauken area, providing quality health care to clients diagnosed with autism or who may be experiencing delays that can benefit from applied behavior analysis,” said BAYADA Home Health Care CEO David Baiada. “Our talented ABA team truly believes their work is their calling, going above and beyond to develop customized therapies and treatment plans that enable clients to thrive in school, at home and in their communities with a greater sense of independence.”

BAYADA’s one-on-one approach to ABA therapy utilizing Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA®) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT™) allows for the highest level of clinical excellence, with the compassion and reliability clients deserve. From customized care for the entire family to maximizing individual strengths and implementing evidence-based methodologies for improving social skills, communication, and challenging behaviors. The BAYADA ABA therapy team enables clients to learn, maintain, and increase functional skills most important to enhance their distinct set of strengths and challenges.

BAYADA specialized their autism and ABA services after acquiring Trumpet Behavioral Health’s Hawaii operations in 2014 and the passage of Luke’s Law mandating insurance coverage for ABA in Hawaii in 2015. Since then, BAYADA has focused on building a robust practice and clinical structure that has provided ABA services to over 600 families in Hawaii across five islands with two physical center openings.

“Our dedicated Hawaii teams have provided the foundation required to allow our ABA therapy practice to grow into our newest location in Pennsauken, which is also home to BAYADA’s global headquarters,” said BAYADA Practice President, Donna Heatherly. “We look forward to expanding our services in this area and impacting those who need our support in the surrounding communities.”

BAYADA’s autism and ABA services are part of its larger offering of home care services. Its experienced staff provide assistive care (personal and home support) to help with activities of daily living; nursing care for chronic and acute conditions; and habilitation services to help people with developmental and intellectual disabilities live more independently.
