What better way to ring in 2023 than to hear two preteen besties exulting about new beginnings?

“Bring on a Happy New Year” is the latest single from Homescool, the duo of multi-instrumentalist Dan Epand and his 9-year-old daughter, Lennon. Their family fun started during the pandemic, when, stir-crazy from the tedium of remote learning, the pair retreated to the home studio to make music and blow off steam.

On “New Year,” Lennon Epand is joined by 10-year-old Arrow Reynolds, the daughter of Aja Volkman (Epand’s bandmate in TWWO, and before that Nico Vega) and Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds. The kids had teamed up on the first Homescool single two years ago, “I Love Christmas.”

So … happy new year. And also check out Homescool’s cheery plea for pet adoption, “Please Say Yes to a Kitten,” written to support the Best Friends Animal Society and released this past October.
