ORLANDO, Fla. — At least three Orlando Red Lobster locations and one in Altamonte Springs have been closed as part of a downsizing at the company that is affecting more than 50 stores nationwide.

The entire contents of two of the stores — one in Altamonte Springs and the Golden Sky Lane location in Orlando — are being auctioned off as part of "The Largest Restaurant Equipment Auction Ever." At the time of this writing, the bids for the Altamonte Springs store had reached $801 and the Orlando store was at $1,605, with more than two days left for each.

The auction site also lists restaurant liquidations in Gainesville, Hialeah and Largo.

In all, the auction site says more than 50 locations are being auctioned off around the country.

Locally, the Red Lobster website shows that three Orlando stores have been shuttered — the Golden Sky Lane location, as well as the stores located at 3552 E. Colonial Drive and 7373 W. Colonial Drive. The site appears to show that two locations on International Drive and one on North Alafaya Trail remain open.
