About the Speakers

Dr. Pooja Khosla
CEO

Pooja Khosla Ph.D., CEO Entelligent. Dr. Khosla is an economist, econometrician, mathematician, thought leader and business maker in the sustainability and climate finance space. Khosla has deep knowledge to build sustainable investing solutions. She has extensive experience in predictive modeling, Microfinance and designing impact investment tools. Khosla has been working on impact solutions since 2003 both nationally and internationally. Khosla has been working with Entelligent since 2016 developing Entelligent’s Smart Climate technology and business, Smart Climate Indices as well as additional climate risk related products with partners such as Societe Generale, FactSet and Bank of America. She is one of the inventors of patented Smart Climate technology. Khosla has several publications in economics, impact investing and microfinance. Her publications footprint include lead journals such as FT and P&I. 

Besides designing sustainability products Khosla has a teaching career training student in economic applications and data science. Khosla holds a Ph.D in economics, and master degrees/diploma in four disciplines including economics, statistics, climate finance and public relations.

Mr Calvin Cheng, CFA

Calvin has 10+ years of experience in investment banking and product development. He previously worked in Global Banking at HSBC, covering client strategy and business development for institutional clients across Asia-Pacific.

Calvin is passionate about driving innovation and supporting education. Calvin is the 1st Laureate of the BOCHK Science & Technology Innovation Prize. Calvin is also a visiting Lecturer in Fintech at HKU Space, an HKU Business School mentor at The University of Hong Kong, and a steering committee member of The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Corporate Innovation Index (CII). Calvin is a founding fellow at the Data Literacy Association (DaLa) and an honorary treasurer at the Institute of Financial Technologist Asia (IFTA). As a Hongkonger with strong Canadian ties, he has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement by the Consul General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao to recognize his achievements in Hong Kong. Calvin holds an Honors Business Administration (HBA) degree with distinction from Ivey Business School. Calvin is a CFA charter holder.

Dr Jacob Wai

Dr Jacob Wai FRM FFA FIPA FCMA CSDP MHKCS
Dr Wai has over 25 years of experience in the Fintech field with specialization in AI & Data and ESG and Financial Risk.

He was a Partner at Deloitte Consulting leading the AI & Data Practice and had also previously lead the APAC Analytics & Cognitive Practice at Capgemini as Senior Director, with work
centering around Data and AI for Finance industry.

For Banking and Finance industry, he was also Director and Head of APAC at Fitch Learning, the Consulting and Training arm of Fitch, one of the three main Credit Rating Agencies of the
world, focusing on training and consulting for Credit, Risk and ESG.

Prior to his consulting career, Dr. Wai had a career in banking, covering Retail, Wholesale and Investment banking, stemming from Westpac (Australia) to HSBC (Global) and UBS (APAC), with experience also in local HK & Chinese owned bank as a senior management at China CITIC Bank International where he was the Chairman of the Data Governance Committee and department head of the Data Governance department. He also has experience in Fintech field as the Chief Data Officer and Chief Risk Officer at MoneySQ, one of the major lending tech players in the early days of Fintech in HK.

Dr Wai is also an experienced Lecturer and trainer with Adjunct and Guest Lecturer roles in
organizations such as Hang Seng University, PolyU, HKU Space, CityU SCOPE, HKIB, HKMA, Risk.net, creating the first Executive Diploma in Sustainable Finance and Investment in HK, and running multiple CPD trainings for banks and insurers.

Dr. Wai has a Doctor of Business Administration from University of Wales Trinity St David, a Master of Laws from University of Greenwich, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Wales, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems) from University of Technology, Sydney.

He is also a Fellow – Institute of Public Accountant (Aust), Fellow – Certified Management Accountant (Aust), Certified FRM (GARP) as well as Fellow at UNESCO HK SDG, Certified Sustainable Development Planners, Member of Fintech Advisory Panel at HK Institute of Bankers and a Member of HK Computer Society.

Mr. Tim Chan, CFA

Tim Chan is an executive director and the Head of Sustainability Research (Asia Pacific ex Japan) at a bulge bracket investment bank. He heads the ESG pillar under the Continuing Education Committee of CFA Society Hong Kong.

Previously, Tim was a senior ESG analyst at Manulife Investment Management where he led the ESG integration, research and engagement efforts in North Asia. Before that, he worked as an advisory manager at Ernst & Young within their climate change and sustainability services team.

Tim holds a bachelor of science in molecular biotechnology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a master of science in environmental management from the University of Hong Kong. He is also a CFA charterholder, a chartered environmentalist and an EFFAS certified ESG analyst. Tim currently sits in the Advisory Board for Division of Environment and Sustainability, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).

  • Please note that no request for an attendance letter will be processed after the event date & registration deadline.
  • For non-members & guests, registration is only confirmed upon receipt of payment. 
  • An additional administrative charge of HK$50 will be charged for participant who registers on the event day.
  • To cope with the growing trend of going cashless, cash and cheque payment is strictly not accepted.  Please ensure the online payment is successfully completed, otherwise, the registration may not be processed.
  • Registrations should be paid in full before the commencement of the event. Immediate payment is required upon email confirmation. Should the registration fee remains outstanding, CFA Society Hong Kong reserves the right to disallow entrance to the event.
  • Full amount will still be charged for no-show or enrolment made after 23 May 2024.
  • An administration fee HK$50 will be charged for any cancellation of confirmed enrollment made on or before 23 May 2024. All cancellation requests must be made in writing and be confirmed by email from Society Hong Kong.
  • Refund of the event fee (less an administration fee of HK$50 per person) will be given for cancellation received on/before 23 May 2024.
    – For payment made by credit card, a refund will be handled through the bank, please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing. The amount will be refunded to the paid credit card account. 
  • No refund will be given for cancellation received after 23 May 2024.
  • Substitutions are allowed. Please notify us prior to the event. Non-member rate applies if the substitute is not a CFA Society Hong Kong member.
