Fully Restored 1963 Austin Mini Cooper S Mk1…
This ’63 Mk1 Cooper S looks great in British Racing Green and was restored by Broadspeed. It is available from Heritage Classics in Hollywood, California for $22,500.
The twin fuel-fillers, Mk1 Euro taillights, and delicate chrome over-riders are nice features. The Mini-Lite style wheels are larger diameter than what we are used to seeing and are made by Panasport. We really prefer the look of the vintage 10″ originals, but these allow for larger brakes.
We love the triple center cluster on the early cars. The two-tone green is a rarity and really looks good. This car would be fun to leave as-is, or gradually add period-correct rallye and performance modifications like a rollbar, Heuer stopwatches, Cibie lighting.
The engine is a rebuilt and up-rated 1370cc with twin carbs. We like the extra displacement for street applications where you need a little more torque.
Heritage Classics is a very reputable dealer and the car is likely as good or better than it looks in the photos. We would want to verify that it is indeed a legitimate “S” model with a British Heritage Certificate. Assuming the chassis numbers check out, we wouldn’t have a problem paying $20k for a properly restored car.
