The state’s slots parlor and casinos last month generated a cumulative $93 million in gross gaming revenue, a slight increase over May’s totals and enough to produce almost $26.2 million in revenue for the state.

Encore Boston Harbor led the way with a bit more than $60 million in gross gaming revenue for the month of June, about $2 million more than the Everett casino raked in during May, the Gaming Commission reported.

MGM Springfield hauled in about $21.15 million in gaming revenue in June, almost exactly the same as it generated in May.

The slots parlor at Plainridge Park Casino counted about $11.97 million in revenue in June, the only one of the state’s three gaming centers to post a revenue increase from May to June. The Plainville slots parlor’s June gaming revenue works out to almost $5.86 million in taxes and fees for the state.

In all, the state can expect just more than $26.16 million in gaming tax revenue and fees from June gambling activity.

BofA Q2 profit dips 32%

Bank of America’s second quarter profits fell 32%, the latest major U.S. bank to report a dip in earnings after a strong 2021.

A better reflection of performance at the country’s second largest bank this quarter was revenue, which increased from $21.5 billion, to $22.7 billion year over year, largely due to higher interest rates and an increased level of lending.

Quarterly profit fell to $6.2 billion, or 73 cents per share, the bank reported Monday, compared with a profit of $9.2 billion, or $1.03 a share, in the same period a year earlier.

JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Citigroup all reported double-digit profit declines last week.
