Memorial Day is the last Monday in May — this year it’s May 29. It is the day set aside for paying tribute to fallen service members. Because it creates a three-day weekend — often involving fun, summertime activities — the alignment between a time of reflection and one of celebration can appear out of balance. Actually, the weekend offers many opportunities to pause, remember, commemorate and reflect. Whether you attend a memorial service, lay flowers, walk a mile in memory, watch a parade or plant flags, you can also celebrate our nation’s heroes and venerate their memory by enjoying the freedoms they protected with their lives.

Appreciative restaurants want to honor those who serve and acknowledge this special holiday. To help them get the word out, we’ve rounded up the terrific food and drink deals they are offering, including discounts, FREE treats, special meals and more.

1. Ninety Nine Restaurants

Veterans and active members of the military will receive 10% off all meals every day, just present your military ID.

2. Bonefish Grill

Treat friends and family to a Bonefish Grill classic dish this Memorial Day weekend. The signature Bang Bang shrimp tacos, served with warm flour tortillas, shredded romaine, tomatoes and lime sour cream, are available as a Family Bundle, serving four, with a salad, cookies and fresh bread, ​​for just $49.90. Also, a terrific perk, service members and first responders receive 10% off their meals at Bonefish Grill throughout the year.

3. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

Dine in, bring your military ID and don’t forget your Red, White & Blue Margarita. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. will be serving crab and shrimp boil this Memorial Day. And, if you order the Red, White & Blue frozen margarita, you can take home the shaker as a souvenir.

4. Carrabba’s

In honor of those who serve, on Memorial Day — and in fact, all year long — military service members and first responders receive a 10% off HEROES discount at Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Also, for a limited time, those wanting to thank a service member or first responder with a Carrabba’s meal, can purchase $50 in gift cards online and receive a $10 bonus card that can be redeemed between June 19 and Aug 20.

5. El Pollo Loco

All who serve the community, including police officers, firefighters, EMTs, federal law enforcement agents and military personnel can enjoy a 15% discount at El Pollo Loco all year long. If not in uniform, they ask that you show some form of ID to the cashier.

6. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Just in time for Memorial Day, Flemings is offering a special Burger & Wine menu at the bar from May 26 to May 29. For a limited time, starting at 4 p.m., guests will be able to enjoy their choice of a prime burger, California burger or crispy chickpea & eggplant burger with a glass of Flowers Pinot Noir for only $30. If you don’t have a taste for a burger, opt for the delicious filet mignon sandwich with a glass of Flowers Pinot Noir for $35.

7. Fogo de Chão

Veterans and active duty personnel who enjoy the delicious Brazilian SteakHouse, Fogo de Chão, should stop in on Memorial Day to receive 50% off their meal and 10% off the meals of up to three guests.

8. Hard Rock Atlantic City

When military personnel visit the Hard Rock Cafe and present their military ID they can sign up for the Veterans Program to receive awesome benefits, including a 15% discount at Hard Rock Cafe, a limited edition Hard Rock veteran pin and much more. 9. Joe’s Crab Shack

In the true spirit of Memorial Day, military members and veterans can dine at Joe’s Crab Shack on May 31 and receive 15% off their meal. Plus, order Joe’s Premium margarita to receive a souvenir tie-dye shaker.

10. Kona Grill

Veterans, members of the military, first responders, healthcare professionals, teachers and other essential workers will receive 20% off all checks for in-restaurant dining at Kona Grill on Memorial Day (Monday, May 29).

11. Long John Silver’s

When visiting Long John Silver’s, show your military ID and get 20% on Memorial Day (and every Monday, in fact).

Slip on your uniform and dine in at Metro Diner on Memorial Day to receive a 10% discount on your meal. In fact, every day of the year, Metro Diner honors all uniformed first responders and active or retired members of the military with a 10% discount.

13. Miller’s Ale House

Current members of the military and veterans can stop into Miller’s Ale House on Memorial Day, provide proof of service and receive 50% off their entrée of choice.

14. Noodles & Company

From May 25 through May 29, Noodles & Company is giving military and first responders a 30% off in-restaurant discount.

15. Omaha Steaks

In honor of Memorial Day, Omaha Steaks is offering a savory Memorial Day Grill Pack that is perfect for the whole family. It comes with 25 items including butcher’s cut top sirloins, air-chilled boneless chicken breasts, Omaha steaks burgers and much more. The dinner kit is on sale now for only ’$129.99.

16. Outback Steakhouse

Honoring not only military veterans, servicemen and women, Outback Steakhouse is taking 10% off their entire check all day, every day to celebrate all nurses, doctors, medical staff, police, firefighters and first responders as well (with valid medical, state or federal service ID).

17. Red Lobster

When visiting Red Lobster, show your military ID and get 10% off your meal on Memorial Day (and every Monday, in fact).

18. Shoneys

Visit Shoney’s restaurant while wearing your uniform and receive 15% off your meal. This offer is good all year long.

19. Smokey Bones

A delicious deal that takes place every Monday at Smokey Bones, including on Memorial Day, is the BOGO Wings. When you buy eight wings, you get eight free or buy 16 and get the same amount free.

20. Sonic

Cool down on Memorial Day, by heading to Sonic to get half price drinks and slushes. To get this deal, orders must be placed online or through the Sonic App. The restaurant offers this deal daily from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

21. Stk Steakhouse

If you are a Veteran, on active duty in the military or a first responder, stop into your nearest STK Steakhouse and get 20% off the check on Memorial Day.

22. Texas de Brazil

Veterans, all active duty in the military and first responders get 15% off on dine-in dinner and lunch prices (salad area too!) at Texas de Brazil all year.

23. Wendy’s

Just in time for Memorial Day, Wendy’s is offering its customers a 1-cent Junior Bacon Cheeseburger with any purchase in honor of National Hamburger Day. The deal is valid starting on May 26 until June 1, and can only be used when ordering through the Wendy’s app.

24. Wingstop

This Memorial Day, you can enjoy Wingstop’s special of 70-cent boneless wings.
