As an American citizen, the latest gun control bill making its way through Congress right now (H.R. 5717/S.3254) is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen! This bill would make me a felon for buying almost every semi-automatic rifle in existence after this bill passes –- meaning the next generation would be disarmed! It would also pass NY styled legislation that would turn Americans into felons for buying any magazine that holds over 10 rounds capacity after this bill passes -- meaning the next generation would be felons for owning them! But that’s not all. This bill would register virtually every firearm in the country. This bill would turn Americans into felons for owning a suppressor. This bill would turn Americans into felons for buying a firearm before they turn 21, even though we trust 18-20 year olds to fight for our country. This bill would even sneak a national ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation into law, which confiscates firearms from Americans before they have been charged or convicted of anything! I stand with the New York State Firearms Association in opposing this legislation and am writing as your constituent to insist that you oppose this legislation as well! With the elections on the horizon, I will be keeping a very close eye on this legislation.

This permit would give radical socialists what they have always wanted, the ability to administratively crush my right to keep and bear arms for any reason they want! This is not the same thing as the national concealed carry permit, this legislation deals with my fundamental right to even buy a firearm! This bill is sick, and is designed to give government the power to strip away my gun rights, and that of millions of my fellow Americans. This would do absolutely nothing to stop criminals, of course, as they get their firearms and ammunition from fellow criminals or by stealing them. But this bill wasn’t designed to deal with public safety. This legislation is designed to crush our Second Amendment freedoms and disarm the American people, ultimately ensuring that only criminals and the government have guns! I stand with the New York State Firearms Association and am 100% opposed to this legislation. The arrogance of the politicians who are pushing this legislation is astounding. They are happy to collect taxes from Americans aged 18-20. And they are fine with sending Americans aged 18-20 all over the world to fight our country. But if a 20-yr old American wants to buy a pistol to defend himself with when he’s at home, Warren and the rest of these America-hating socialists want to turn them into felons? This is wrong, and as my elected voice in Washington, D.C., I am writing to insist that you oppose this bill at all points in the legislative process. One of the most bedrock philosophies of this country is the idea that we are ‘innocent until we are proven guilty’ in a court of law. If we surrender that concept in the area of the Second Amendment -– allowing gun owners to lose their firearms and their rights before ever being convicted of a crime -- this will spread to other areas quickly. The raging socialist liberals who are pushing this legislation want to destroy this great country, and if they can obliterate the idea of ‘innocent until proven guilty,’ they will be one step closer to their goal. As one of your constituents, I insist that you ‘VOTE NO’ on this legislation. While governments (like ours here in NY state) are releasing criminals all over the country right now in response to the Coronavirus, anti-gun radicals in Washington, D.C. are doing everything they can to give them the upper hand! That’s because the new gun control bill that they filed in Washington -- H.R. 5717 and S.3254 –- would make it a crime to have a firearm available for self-defense unless I am actively using it. In other words, gun owners nationwide would be criminals for having a firearm next to my bed at night for self-defense, like we are here in New York! In the event of a violent home invasion these insane politicians actually expect me to wake up, unlock my gun safe, find my ammo, and ready my firearm all in the middle of the night. It won’t happen. Criminals know that, and they will be emboldened by it like they already are in states that have enacted this legislation at the state level! I’m furious that these socialists are trying to criminalize me for trying to protect my loved ones, while they are releasing criminals into the population at the same time! As a constituent, I insist that you do everything you can to stop this legislation! Publicly oppose it! Vote against it if it comes before a committee you sit on! Vote against it if it comes to the floor! (This stupid concept is already law here in New York, and it’s done nothing to lower crime. On the contrary, violent crimes like rape have exploded since socialists in Albany banned magazines over 7 rounds.) How does Congress know how many rounds of ammunition I need to keep my family safe? Can they assure me that I’ll never be attacked by multiple attackers? But it’s more than that. My God-given right to keep and bear arms was enshrined in our Constitution because our Founding Fathers knew that government tyranny was the ultimate threat facing Americans, not criminals.
