She is a work at home, Super Momma to three rowdy boys, who keep her on her feet from daylight to sunset. As a pass time from her everyday life, Silla started a blog-Momma's Secret Book Obsession, for reviewing romance novels. From there, she realized that not only did she have a natural love for reading and reviewing, but she found that lost love of writing that she once had as a young girl.
When she isn't conquering the world as a wife, momma and Super Woman, Silla loves to lay on the front porch swing and read while sipping sweet tea, just passin' the day away.

* Review Only for Plunged by Claire Wilder *

Plunged is the first in a new spinoff series featuring women who are successfully working in the trades. Winona owns Heartbreaker Plumbing but wants to expand into a collective to further the interests of women in the field. She's called to an emergency repair and meets Mitchell, a billionaire who has isolated himself in Quince Valley to work on writing a novel. Miscommunication sets them off with an intensity only matched by the thunderstorms outside. Winona and Mitchell are like fire and ice, starting a fling while Mitchell is in town. But their relationship has an expiration date so what happens when it turns into something more?

I've already met these characters in other Quince Valley books but I have somewhat mixed thoughts here. I always love the enemies to lovers trope but this was a little rushed by nature of its length. Some serious issues fell beneath the surface and I would have liked to see them explored a bit more. Despite the intense attraction, I also thought there would have been more resistance to indulging in a fling especially considering Mitchell's attitude as well as Winona's strength and independence. Additionally, Mitchell's wealth was displayed way too over the top and I thought it would have played a larger role highlighting the differences between his and Winona's lifestyles.

However, I loved seeing Mitchell's transformation and how Winona opened him up to having fun again. And the sex was super steamy almost like they would combust into flames. Both Winona and Mitchell had been broken in some way and they became so much more whole as they came together. I also liked how books were worked into the story, both in terms of reading and writing. And the ending alone made this a worthwhile read. The letter in the final chapter and the subsequent reveal wrecked me, consuming me entirely and bringing me almost to tears. I could feel the passion Winona and Mitchell had for each other. I knew they were truly meant to be together.

** Special thanks to Rachel Hill, Claire Wilder's PA, for gifting me this anthology. I'm looking forward to reading more of these stories and finding new unexpected happily ever afters. **

There are a lot of good stories in this collection! Out of 17- for me 8 were so good I have already looked up other books from those authors. A couple of them had some writing and consistency issues. One I did not finish because I don't read sexy love stories about teenagers. Maybe because I HAVE teens, it is just super gross to me. One was written well but that trope was not really for me. The rest were good and I will think about reading more from them. FYI- A couple of these were not complete stories, but teasers of books coming soon. Love scenes- almost all vanilla, range from really low to medium heat levels.

The standout for me was Ink Wars by Heather Dahlgren. My favorite, well done. I liked the unreliable author kind of feel when the MCs described each other at the beginning, and that they were open to how they were wrong. Will definitely read more from this author.

Also notable- Night Hawke (close 2nd to IW), The Hunkmate, Wildflower, Captured, Hate the One You Lust.
(I received an ARC of this anthology. I am happily reviewing it because I genuinely enjoyed reading it!)

These 17 short reads are an amazing collection of finding love in the most unexpected moments of their lives. I loved the variety of stories, and the women and men who aren’t afraid to go after what their heart’s desire, making some of these delectable stories oh so good!!

Best Man – Silla Webb & Kayden Layne: Carter just wants to forget, and Emersyn wants to give him a night to remember. Loved this hot bite with that twist at the end!

Night Hawke – Gwyn McNamee: Jack lets go of her inhibitions with Isaac, but what are the consequences? I am totally sucked into this one and am dying to find out more! Ruthless Hawke can’t come soon enough!!

Leave You Breathless – A.M. Guilliams: Alora follows her dreams at all costs, and it was working out, until her world falls out from under her. I loved that Rhett couldn’t stop thinking about her!

More Than One Night – Ashley Cade: Melody and Gavin’s story was sexy and cute! Parents who still “got it goin’ on!”

Plunged – Claire Wilder: The writer and the plumber…Winona was quite the firecracker! I loved how she stood up to Mitchell!

Unexpected Encounter – Evan Grace: Luna and Sebastian’s surprise baby romance was a fun read! Wish it was a bit longer, but I still enjoyed it.

The Hunkmate – Gail Harris: Oh my, Journi and Cruz’s story was sexy and hilarious! And Cruise…well, that bit was probably one of my favorites!

Stuck with the Rock Star – Georgia Coffman: Pia needs a roommate, and Elijah needs a place to crash. The rock star and the practical, prudish girl somehow find love in between their differences. I loved how he pushed every one of her buttons, and she pushes his buttons right back!

Ink Wars – Heather Dahlgren: Let the best ink win! Corbin and Leah are fierce competitors, and their story was hot with some great feels.

Chance – Hollis Wynn: Kollysn (a unique name!) apparently needs some coaching when it comes to dating, and Xan is just the man to give her lessons. But I still can’t believe his discussion about spider webs… oh my! A totally fun and hot read!

Wildflower – Jennifer Rebecca: This one was a bit different – an older woman getting another chance at love! Zelda and Court’s story was wonderful, with her daughters jumping in to help their mom get the love she deserves!

Crush – Leaona Luxx: In this brother’s best friend tale, Griggs and Hunter get a second chance at love. It’s a shorter read but also gives us a taste of what’s to come for these two!

Captured – Lynn Burke: Nissa and Leo’s story was a fast read, but it turned up the heat quick! I really enjoyed this steamy bite!

Sweater Weather – Mandi Beck: Levi is the ultimate college manwh***! Not sure what I see in him just yet. Saffie is dealing with a rough time in her life, and this teaser was just enough to stoke the fires. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes.

Finding Love with the Unexpected – Rachel Lyn Adams: Kayla and Blaine’s unexpected meeting turns into something more. It was tamer than other books in this collection but it ends with a good HFN.

Professor Daddy – Rene Webb: A hot photographer and a sexy professor get into some kinky fun. There’s some suspense going on with a stalker, but that part seemed a little too rushed. I’d love to see this as a more fleshed out story!

Hate the One You Lust – Willow Aster & Laura Pavlov: Mazie and Aidan’s story was short and sweet, and I enjoyed their hilarious first instances where they meet each other but things go awry. He’s a hot but sweet guy who just hasn’t figured out how women’s minds work!

I’m here for Evan Grace’s contribution. Sebastian and Luna gave me a quick, wonderful story that brought some angst, some insecurities, and a LOT of soul searching with some heat on their way to figuring out how to move forward. The insecurities were all over whether or joy Sebastian was ready for more in life, but he didn’t let me down! Luna had me firmly in her corner from jump, but I also adored the reactions from those who were closest once the truth came out. Blood didn’t matter. The family by choice did, and the fact that she had people at her back no matter what made this even sweeter.

The best part may be just how much Sebastian learned to listen to his heart and gut when he met up with Luna again. He didn’t run to do anything stupid. He didn’t run away. He grew into the man his brother knew he could be before my eyes and I loved every second of his epiphany. So enjoy York time with him and Luna. You won’t be disappointed.

I am definitely guilty for getting this Anthology for CAPTURED by Lynn Burke (my one-click author) as this is a continuation of my favorite duet, Forbidden Obsession. Knowing it was on Leo and him getting a HEA that he deserves, SQUEE. And let me tell you he is all YUMMY DELICIOUS MAN and not who we thought he was.

That being said......
I absolutely loved this anthology. All but 1 author were New-To-Me and they did not disappoint. I will definitely be looking into these other Authors.

My main thought.....
Someone grab me a towel and an ice cold drink please! WOW, just WOW!

Definitely worth the One-Click for this Antho

I love anthologies for finding “new-to-me” authors.
I really enjoy getting a glimpse of these authors' writing styles. I love that each of these stories are just long enough to entice and draw you in. This book did not disappoint, I found several “new-to-me” authors that I will definitely be checking out their past and future work. A few I have read before and love getting to see more of their writings.

This book also had an added bonus with one of my one-click authors having a story within.
Author Lynn Burke’s story Captured is a sequel to her Forbidden Obsession duet.
Captured follows the character Leo from the duet. I love that Leo met his match in this story and Nissa is everything he never knew he needed. This like a few of others is the perfect blend of intrigue and spice.

Hate The One You Lust by Laura Pavlov and Willow Aster

Oh this little novella was just what I needed after a long week. I laughed so hard! Willow and Laura are pure magic when they write together.
Mazie and Aidan meet under unfortunate circumstances when Aiden bathes Mazie with rain water while he’s driving his Jax.. fast forward couple of days and Mazie interviews at the law firm where Aidan works and sparks fly! There’s some sort of insta love here mixed with hilarious mishaps and a whole lot of love! The only sad thing in this book is that I wanted more! This little novella was perfection 😍

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Unexpected Ever After brings you 17 brand new contemporary romance stories about finding love in the unexpected way.

I read each book in the anthology and I enjoyed a majority of them. It's definitely a wonderful anthology that I really enjoyed reading and meeting the different authors and their characters.

I reviewed each book and told you my thoughts on each. I was not a fan of the ones who end on a cliff or continue on in a new book coming out soon. But a majority are complete stories that I really enjoyed.

Best Man By Silla Webb & Kaden Layne: New author for me. It's also part of the Under Construction Series which I have never read before. The story opens at a bar and Carter is celebrating his friend Liam's wedding when he meets bartender, Emersyn. They share one hot night.

This book or prequel I shall say was not my favorite. One is issue I had was that Liam is marrying a woman named Layla, and Carter's ex is Laney. I kept getting confused with both names so similar.

Second, this is a prequel to a book coming out in winter 2023 and looks like a love triangle with Carter and Laney and Emerson. I do not like love triangles at all.

Night Hawke By Gwyn McNamee: Isaac/Nolan meets Jack in a bar in Chicago and they share two very hot days. They are both at a crossroads as he is finished with law school and moving to New Orleans to work with his dad at the Hawkes MC. Jack is a bit of a mystery as we don't know a lot about her except that she has escaped for a few nights.

This is also a new author for me. It is a second-generation Hawke Family prequel. The story picks up on Feb 23 with Ruthless Hawke.

Leave You Breathless By A. M. Guilliams: This was an awesome story I really loved it. I only wish that it was longer because I wanted to see more of Rhett and Alora.

Alora and Rhett meet in Miami and have two hot days and nights. They both leave and go home but their dreams are of each other. Then 4 months later Alora runs into Rhett and that's all I am spoiling.

This is a small town and second chance romance. I loved it so much. It was hot and sexy but also romantic.

More Than One Night By Ashley Cade: In this story we meet Melody, a divorced single mom and moving to Willow Brook Falls and her grandparents and great-grandparents to help them run their inn in their small town with her young son, Elijah.

We also meet Gavin who is the new assistant principal at the elementary school in his new town where his cousins and uncle live. He had a previous relationship with a single mom who went back to her ex-so he plans to stay away from single moms.

This was an awesome small-town romance with two people who have been burned by bad romances in their past and are new to town.

This is part of the Willow Brook Falls series. and also connected to the authors Wild Hearts Series as Gavin's ex is Abby from that series.

Plunged By Claire Wilder: In this story we meet 32-year-old Winona who runs her own plumbing business. She gets hired to do a job at a big estate owned by billionaire recluse and author Mitchell. It's a hate thing until they decide to have a fling. Winona ends up being a muse for Mitch as he finishes his book and moves on. They lead very different lives, and she resents rich men because it reminds her of her mom being abused by her rich husband. But what happens when they fall for each other?

This is not my favorite book in the series. I didn't really like Winona. She is one very tough cookie, and I just never really liked her. I felt she kept people at a distance. Mitch was a good character, but I felt it was just a fling and didn't really understand why he was so into Winona.

Unexpected Encounter By Evan Grace: This is a surprise baby romance with Luna who is an author and Sebastien a globetrotting photographer playboy. They have one night and then see other 6 months later in a totally unexpected way. She is a college graduate, and he is 35 so it's also an age gap, second chance and forbidden romance.

It was an interesting story and I really loved Luna. But Sebastien was a huge jerk in this book. It might have been a better story if it was expanded but it felt very rushed and we don't see them fall in love, just in lust. The story then includes an epilogue, ten years later and that's where we see them talk about falling in love.

The Hunkmate By Gail Haris: I have never read this author before and as the book begins, I was very iffy on it. The female character of Journi was a character I usually don't read books about. Why? well she is a bisexual and she discusses sleeping with men and women, in addition she says something about even sleeping with multi partners. But I kept reading and I was really happy I did because she is so funny and a huge riot.

She has a bestie named Jan and she states that both her parents are dead and her best friend is a married woman named Jan who is her family. Jan asks her to join her on a family vacation with a very hot doctor, named Cruz who is Jan's close family friend and other best friend. Cruz and Journi have never met until this little vacation.

This has a forbidden angle because Jan knows how Journi is with relationships and asks her not to flirt with Cruz because she loves them both and doesn't want to have to choose if it doesn't work out.

This book was hot, funny and really a super fun and romantic story. Its prob one of my favorite in this series.

Stuck with the Rock Star Georgia Coffman: This was a light read and it went by fast. I would have preferred this book to be longer.

Before Pia and Elijah get together there was more of a story. Once they do it goes by very fast. It's about a besties brother who is also a rock star and he even ends up as a roomie. They have a fling that leads to more. I enjoyed it but I wanted to see more of them as a couple in the book than before they get together.

Ink Wars By Heather Dahlgren: This was a really fun story. It stars Leah and Corbin, rival tattoo artists that have hated each other from day one and have known each other for over two years.

Things get tough when Hollywood asks them to design a tattoo for a movie and they end up as rivals and then partners which force them to work together.

This was a wonderful hate to love romance and I really loved it.

Chance By Hollis Wynn: This was an interesting story. Its not my typical read but it was interesting, well written and I liked the characters. It stars Kollsyn who is one strong, independent woman but she is very alpha and wants to learn to let go.

Xan wants to help her open up I guess you can say. They end up living together while he trains her and that's when this book gets really exciting as we watch these two fall for each other,

Wildflower By Jennifer Rebecca:This was a really different story from any others in the series. It stars Zelda who is almost 40 and has three grown adult daughters and even a grandchild. She lives in the wilds of Alaska. She meets Court, a hot host of a tv show who is 45. And Court falls very fast for her, I would say insta love on his side.

Zelda is a victim of domestic abuse and is terrified of men. Court has to work hard to get her to give him a shot and not run away from him. He gets help from her daughter and the locals in town who love her.

I really enjoyed this story. I also loved hearing about Z's daughters who will have future books. The coming books about the girls sound really good and I am excited to read them.

Crush By Leaona Luxx:I LOVED this story but it sort of ends on a cliff hanger and says more will come in January 2023, which was HUGE bummer. I am so not a fan when authors do that in anthologies.

This is the story about Griggs who has always loved Hunter. But he is also best friends with her older brother, Raithe but Raithe has always made Hunter forbidden.

Ten years later Hunter has two kids and is a single mom and Griggs comes home to sell his parents' house and they connect I guess you can say.

This is a second chance romance, and I really liked it except for the ending. If you don't mind cliffs then this is a great story and you will love it,

Captured By Lynn Burke: After having read this story I am not sure what to think. The star in this book is Leo and he is a very messy guy. He has an ex he is just getting over when his newly married friends try and hook him up with the sister, Nissa.

This had A LOT of sex scenes. It also has insta lust. There is not much of a story and a majority of the book is them lusting for each other and sex scenes. They were well done and I enjoyed this couple.

Sweater Weather By Mandi Beck: This is a college romance I guess you can say. I honestly didn't feel like it was a romance. During the entire book and even up to the ending, which is sort of cliffy, Saffie, the female lead has a boyfriend at another college, and she is always telling Levi she has a boyfriend.

Levi, I have no words for. He is not a guy I was rooting for in relation to Saffie. He is actually pretty awful. He has many, many threesomes. He has this girl Nora who he treats awfully but she has sex with him all the time. He lives in a house with other teammates from his hockey team and they have sex parties all the time.

I did like Saffie a lot but not for Levi. She is way too good for him or any of his friends. She is at a new college, away from her mom and friends to be a baseball pitcher. Her dad just died, and her current boyfriend doesn't call her or answer her calls. She is on Levi's dad's baseball team and Levi ends up as her tutor. She also has a cousin at the college, and she plays baseball with two of Levi's sisters. All this means she ends up around Levi a lot. And she is attracted even though he really is the worst.

The story ends just as things get interesting but honestly not much happens romantically before the story ends and says there is a longer version of the book you can purchase to read. I did look the book up on Amazon and it's coming out in January.

Finding Love with the Unexpected By Rachel Lyn Adams: This was a cute story. It stars two people who are having a very bad week. Kayla has just lost her boyfriend and dream job as a nurse in the city of San Diego. Blaine is a very hot movie star in Los Angeles who just punched out his co-star and the press is after his story.

They both end up in Santa Barbara and start hanging out which leads to romance. It was a cute story and I enjoyed it. It ends with a happy for now ending. I would love a more complete story because I really enjoyed it.

Professor Daddy By Rene Webb : I am not into the whole daddy and "littles" scene. In fact, I have never read a book with this theme ever. But I read this one and while it's not my thing, I felt it was well written and I enjoyed meeting the characters and them finding each other.

Violet and Etienne both work at the same college and so they work together. They feel an attraction but try to resist it because of their complicated work relationship. But they manage to find each other, and I enjoyed watching them come to mean something special to each other.

Hate the One You Lust Willow Aster & Laura Pavlov: This was an awesome story. It was hot and sweet and romantic. Aidan is a total cutie and is so sweet and Mazie tries to resist him, but he is just so cute she cannot resist his hotness.

It is a story that primarily takes place at work when Mazie gets hired at his law firm. They become besties because she won't date him because they work together. It's a bit of insta lust/love on Aidan's side but he has to work hard to get her to give him a chance.

It takes place in the G.D. Taylor universe but many years after the books happened. We get to see Mya and Emma (and their husbands Jesse and Spence, plus Beck, Gus and Caden) a lot in this story as they are friends and work with Aidan and Mazie. It's a story that will make you laugh but also sigh because it's very romantic.

The Hunkmate - Gail Haris

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love a good instant attraction short story, if it’s written right, and this one is right on point.

But let’s not confuse this with instant love. Because that’s definitely not what it is. Cruz and Journi take their time to get to know one another. They’re each a best friend to Jan. Cruz is the childhood best friend and Journi is the newer best friend.

So when they are at the family cabin together, their relationship is a bit forbidden by Jan because she doesn’t want to be in an awkward position - she knows how these two are. This then makes them slow down to “smell the roses” so to say. So when they finally see each other the next time, their attraction is off the charts. Jan sees that both Cruz and Journi have grown up a bit and finally gives her blessing for these two to be together.

I loved the laughter that Gail is able to give us as readers, that isn’t just slap stick humor. They’re real life instances that can happen to anyone, that make you snort with laughter.

If you haven’t pre-ordered this anthology yet, you hands down need to! It’s such a sweet, feel good story, that leaves you on a happy cloud nine for these two.

Long review alert lol. I'm an overachiever

Best Man, What a way to tease us. Perfect start to an anthology,  The chemistry was HOT! I'll be watching for this one to release.

Night Hawke, Well, two I need to buy now! Need Jack and Isaac's story too! Killing me

Leave You Breathless, Alora and Brett were sweet, hot too, but had a sweetness to it. Much enjoyed it.

More Than One Night, Melody and Gavin started off as an almost Hallmark type feel but soon went way beyond that, lol. So good

Plunged, Winona and Mitch, so much Beauty and the Beast/Princess Bride vibe to this, if you add in hot, sexy scenes! Was Yummy.

Unexpected Encounter, Luna and Sebastian were one of my favorite couples,  they had issues to deal with! Lol

The Hunkmate, Journi and Cruz had the best first meeting ever, I died. Loved this one.

Stuck With The Rock Star, definitely don't judge a book by its cover, or a woman by her looks. Elijah was sure surprised by Pia!

Ink Wars, Leah and Corbin,  awesome enemies to lovers one. Uber hot

Chance, Kollyn and Xan were interesting, will need more from them to fully decide lol

Wildflower,  I was wrong! This one is now the favorite lol. Court and Zelda and the whole crazy crew, will be watching for more.

Crush, Hunter and Griggs, very much invested in this second chance couple, be watching for it.

Captured, THIS ONE! This is why I got this anthology, lol. It was well worth the wait, I love the Midnight Sun books and have been waiting for Nissa, she sure delivered! So Happy!

Sweater Weather,  I'm not really into sports romance but this one grabbed me, the chemistry between Saffron and Levi is epic, another one to watch for.

Finding Love in The Unexpected,  Kayla and Blaine were an unexpected couple, much enjoyed it, who doesn't want an uber hot sexy actor they've crushed on? Lol

Professor Daddy, awwwwww was so sweet. I just adore a good Daddy, way to go Violet and Etienne, need Marcus's story now.

Hate The One You Lust, Aiden and Maize were the perfect ending to this anthology! I have to say I laughed so hard, never saw THAT coming.

Hate the One You Lust by Laura Pavlov and Willow Aster
Sometimes a meet-cute starts off cute, but ends very messy! Unfortunately for Mazie, when she sees a hot guy in a car who happens to be looking back at her, it ends with her drenched. Things get awkward when she shows up for an interview and sees the car guy there. Aidan is a lawyer at the office that Mazie now work at which makes him off limits.

Aidan and Mazie develop a really sweet friendship but their chemistry is undeniable! I loved being back with the GD Taylor's and this world that Laura and Willow created. Together their writing is magic and absolutely hilarious! For a novella, I really laughed a lot reading this book. It makes me a little disappointed that they didn't get a full story. This was a great novella, low on the steam but heavy on the laughs!

Stuck With a Rockstar - Georgia Coffman

Pia and Elijah become unexpected roommates. They do their best to stay away from one another even through they have a undeniable chemistry. Pia is best friends with Elijah’s sister so she is doing her best to stay away.

Elijah thinks Pia is a prude and nerdy…however, she comes out of her shell at shocks Elijah. These two are steamy and delicious! Lol

Hate the One You Lust - Willow Aster & Laura Pavlov

Oh my goodness, Laura and Willow write the most hilarious characters and stories. This is a short novella but it lacks a punch full of laughs, heat and those amazing GD Taylor’s!

Maxie and Aiden have a very unexpected first meeting. Their second meeting is just as unexpected and full of the same craziness.

This is a fantastic workplace romance filled with instants attraction, amazing banter and many laugh out loud moments.

Hate the one you Lust is part of the Unexpected Ever After anthology, I adored this story! Willow and Laura never let me down with the laughs and swoons, seriously at one point I was laughing so hard I had tears!

Aiden and Mazie start off hilariously rough, but I love the friendship they formed and watching it become more!

I especially LOVED being back in the GD Taylor world and seeing some old friends!

Hate the One you Lust will have you laughing and swooning and will leave you with the biggest smile on your face!

So that said, you should definitely pick up the Unexpected Ever After, and read Hate the One you Lust and all the other amazing stories in the anthology!

I really truly loved this anthology. A lot of these authors were new to me, so I was a bit unsure of what I was diving into but I was certainly not disappointed by any of these stories. I ultimately purchased to get my hands on Chance by Hollis Wynn and it was hands down perfection.

Rather than review each short story individually, I am reviewing this anthology as a whole. Each story brought the steam factor, the alpha factor, the heroines that I love to hate because the book boyfriends are all mine after all. Each was well written, each had a great buildup ans each left me wanting to get other works by these authors.

A great steamy anthology as just what I needed!!

Out of all the stories in this anthology, my favorite has to be Lynn Burke's Captured!! I loved the fact that we get to see characters from previous books, like an extension of other stories because I do love catching up on favorites. Gideon and Addilyn.........Ciarra and Josh.....loved them. In this story, we get Ciarra's twin sister, Nissa. Leo is smitten as soon as he sees her and the story takes off. While this may be a quick read, you definitely feel all the emotions with both characters. Anything by Lynn Burke is something I will jump on in a heartbeat!!

The other stories were great also. Some longer, some shorter but they all kept me interested!

I started this for Evan Grace’s Unexpected Encounter and it was worth it. Just completely yummy!! He went from playboy to hot dad and I got all the feels. Absolutely loved it!
I stayed with this anthology and got so much more! I was introduced to many new authors and I’m marking my calendar to be on the lookout for the continuation of some of these stories and additional books to add on to the novellas I just finished. This is so worth it! Can’t wait to dig in to these authors!

What an amazing anthology! I was grateful to read Hate The One You Lust by Willow Aster and Laura Pavlov early before release (September 20th) and this well-paced novella was equal parts steamy and swoony (with some laughs, too!) -- just what I expect from this duo! I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this anthology when it releases!

Best Man - Silla Webb and Kaden Layne
While trying to keep his best friend in line at his bachelor party he keeps his eye on the bartender. She's hot, she's personable and makes him laugh. His mind has been on his latest girlfriend that keeps leaving and not responding to him and he's pretty much had it with her.

This couple is HOT!!! I mean HOT!!!! Can it ever be more than just one night?

I was so lucky to receive an ARC of this wonderful Anthology, thank you!

As soon as I got this I went straight to the Novella from the lovely Laura Pavlov and Willow Aster, this writing duo always guarantee us a fabulous read. This little beauty is called Hate the one You Lust and it’s a spin off from the GD Taylors so I just new I needed to read this.

Even though it’s a Novella it still packs a punch and as usual from this duo, we get brilliant characters that give us a lot of laughs. Aidan and Mazie were awesome together, they had huge chemistry and definitely brought the steam.

I can’t wait to read the rest now, as I’m sure all of the other Novellas are just as great. Definitely recommend this Anthology.

Unexpected Ever After is terrific anthology. You will find a mixture of of some incredible authors who brings us some amazing stories. There are 17 wonderful stories to fall in love with. Some fantastic characters throughout. If I had to pick my favorite story it would be either Stuck with the Rock Star by Georgia Coffman or Ink Wars by Heather Dahlgren. But all in all you won’t regret getting this anthology.

Stuck with the Rock Star by Georgia Coffman was a fantastic short rock romance. When your best friend asks if her older rock star brother could stay with you for a couple of weeks you want to say no but you can't. Why? Well she's your best friend. Pia let's Elijah stay but with rules and fortunately he only breaks a couple. Attraction, truths and sexual tension are what the two of them deal with. Can the roommates stay roommates or do they break that rule too?

Unexpected Ever After is a multi-author anthology featuring seventeen new contributions from nineteen authors, including two writing duos. For the purposes of this review, I read two stories: Sweater Weather by Mandi Beck and Hate the One You Lust by Willow Aster and Laura Pavlov. I decided to start with the aforementioned stories because the former is part of Beck's Fulton University Hockey series, with book one releasing back in 2018 and I've been waiting for book two since then; and the latter, which was actually the first one I read, because I adored Aster and Pavlov's G.D. Taylors series, and this story is a spin-off. I will be adding to this review as I read more of the other stories in this all-new anthology.

Mandi Beck's Sweater Weather features the first fifteen chapters in the full-length version of the actual book. So yes, this doesn't have an actual happily-ever-after, nor does it have a happy-for-now. What it does have is a pretty good beginning with as far as the story of Saffron Briggs and Levi Sexton are concerned. She's a transfer student and the newest recruit of the Fulton University's women's softball team; he's the team captain of the school's men's hockey team and a star player--both on and off the ice. I'm a wee bit on the fence when it comes to Levi, but I'm hoping he'll win me--and Saffron--over when the full-length book is published in January of next year. For now, consider me curious. 3.5 stars.

Hate the One You Lust was a hoot! I quite enjoyed revisiting Willow Aster and Laura Pavlov's G.D. Taylors book universe. Mazie McCarthy and Aidan Willoughby (remember him?!) made me smile and had me laughing (without any help from laughing gas!) in all the right places. Their meet-cute made a splash...literally! From that moment, I became invested in these two. I loved Mazie's independence, and I adored Aidan's sweet and romantic nature. Naturally, there's a wee bit of a complication, thanks to them working in the same law office, but they get their HEA nonetheless. And yes, the G.D. Taylors and their significant others make an appearance! Bonus! This easily snags 4.5 stars from me.

I am a sucker for an anthology. Give me all the short, steamy and sentimental snippets. Make it 17 NEW stories and I'm all in. I've been working my way through this one and so far these are my favorites:

Sweater Weather by Mandi Beck:
A sassy enemies-to-lovers romance between two hot shot college athletes. Yes please.
I just wanted to wrap Saffron up. She had been through so much and was doing her best to adjust to all the new things around her. Too bad she couldn't escape Levi and all his cockiness. Though there was definitely a softer side to him under all that bravado that was nice to see emerging.
There is so much animosity between Levi & Saffron that I can't wait for the full book to release so I can see that tension morph into something else.

Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee:
Excuse me while I go fan myself because this short story was HOTTTTTT!
I loved the boldness of both Isaac and 'Jack'. How they were all in for one night before their lives took a turn. How one night became so much more even though nothing could ever come of it.
I am super excited to see what is in store as the next generation of Hawke's series kicks off with their full book soon.

Unexpected Encounter by Evan Grace:
This one is actually a full story and not a prequel!
I liked that both Luna and Sebastian knew what they wanted. Until one night changed the course of their lives.
I loved the sense of feeling and home and family in this one (especially little Nick's sweet innocence). And while the focus of this was between Luna and Sebastian, Pete and Sara were incredible.

I can't wait to make my way through the rest of Unexpected Ever After collection and add to my never ending TBR.
