Since March 16, 2020 ECPS teachers and staff have shown what it means to truly meet the needs of ALL children no questions asked, WHATEVER IT TAKES! It is now time to celebrate and share all of the amazing strategies and tools our schools have been using to meet the needs of all ECPS students. Below you will see different sessions that are offered each hour, please make sure to attend the full session in order to receive credit.

Dr. Valerie Bridges is the SUPER PROUD Superintendent of Edgecombe County Public Schools. She has served as Assistant Superintendent in both Edgecombe and Washington County Schools. Before working in the Eastern region of North Carolina, Dr. Bridges worked in Guilford and Wake County Public Schools as a high school teacher, middle school assistant principal, and elementary principal. She continues to bring fresh and innovative ideas to help give Edgecombe the EDGE!

Anecdotal Notes: What You Say Matters!

This session will share best practices for making anecdotal notes that inform instruction and student performance. Spend a few minutes with us as we talk about best practices for documenting student progress. Kindergarten teachers will use this information as they complete the North Carolina Early Learning Inventory in the fall.

This session will help participants use Response Interruption & Redirection to address behavioral concerns of students grades PK-12 and monitor progress with efficacy.

Adding PDFs with Kami to Google Classroom

Learn how to use Kami to upload PDFs to Google Classroom. Students can use the drawing tool to write their answer or create a text box to type their answer. They can change the color of their drawing tool or text in the text box. It makes doing the digit work a little funner for the students. I'll share an Unforgettable Year Memory Book that the kids can complete to help them remember this unforgettable time.

In planning for next year, how can we intentionally build data and data conversations into the day to ensure that we close learning gaps from missing skills and standards from this crisis. During this session we will unpack the transformational ways to build relationships and student efficacy through crucial data conversations. You will hear narratives from real students who have made intentional efforts on driving their own learning after participating in these conversations. After our session you will have a better understanding of resources to plan and implement data in a meaningful way while rebuilding after a crisis.
